i really dont get that high of temps during idle im getting around 30 C idle and around 59 to 60 C gaming in just gaming mode. also set fan settings to turbo which helps. it also pairs very well with the I5 6600 non k version

Great Video TekTick, i have a question. I have a setup now that is this specific card with a i7 6700K and 16 GB RAM. But i have to buy a new monitor, do you recommend to buy a 1440p monitor or 1080P on 144 hz. I'm afraid that if i buy the 1440P one i will have to upgrade my GPU soon, to be able to play on ultra settings. Where as i buy the 1080P on 144 hz i'll be set for more years on ultra settings. Any thoughts? Also others can leave their thoughts.

Good video! In line with what I got for my G1 gaming. I was able to get +100MHz on the core and have only gone up to +1000MHz on the memory. Haven't tried higher on memory yet, but +125MHz wasn't stable. I'm seeing about 2050MHz.Was able to exceed 20,000 firestrike graphics score, about 20,400. Small comment, make sure to proofread your slides for the video. In particular Crysis 3 has HIGH spelled wrong. Little things that make/break video quality. For others, noticed some coil whine during some conditions but it would never be noticeable in game with audio. 100% fan is a jet engine but 50% is very quiet. Temperatures in mid 60s when benchmarking.

Hi there. So, I have a 1070 G1 Gaming myself but finding it hard to overclock the memory. The core clock looks normal at 2050mhz and maximum 2065mhz. The maximum I've managed to get for memory is 2165mhz from the gpuz reading. Yours goes to 2387mhz (5:23)!! Did I get a faulty unit or something? And another thing I realised is in gpuz under the memory type, mine says GDDR5 Micron instead of SAMSUNG. I was sure when I first ran gpuz the day I installed it, it said SAMSUNG. Was there a sneaky update Gigabyte put through the xtreme gaming software? I've reinstalled drivers, and even reset windows 10 but the reading still shows Micron. I'm confused. PS: Sorry for the long post.

Yes, for now, the Gaming X is the quietest. I've tried the Strix version of the GTX 1080 and it's surprisingly loud. I've read that the Zotac AMP edition is really quiet too.

The middle fan on my G1 is not working, even when temp reaches 60C, both 1st and 3rd fan are spinning at 1500 RPM while the middle one is 0, how do I fix this???

Warranty RMA! I'm pretty sure something is wrong, as I can remember the middle fan actually starts first to spin when it reaches above 60°C.

I just tested it again and the middle fan actually started spinning this time but only 700 RPM while the other ones were at 1500 RPM. So maybe it's the software itself that's not accurate I'll try testing it a few more times to see if I'll have to replace the card. I'll also have to actually look at the fans to see if all 3 spin because I've been only referring to the software

While playing an intensive game the fans will stay at around 50%, temps will rarely get above 60. That is without overclocking, and a decent chassis ventilation. I am using open headphones, and i cannot hear the fans. However, artificial benchmarks, and heavy overclocking (+240 MHZ OC on my card) will push the fans to 60% and temps close to 70.

Actually, not that different, like a couple of degrees more and noise wise being pretty much the same to my surprise.

pretty much these days high temps with OC arent even an issue anymore, even on air cooling i own this card and i stay at about 60+ degree C with +100mhz on baseclock and I reach max 2050 mhz with boost 3.0 idle temps are bad on auto fan (fans turn off on idle and that doesnt help if your ambient temperature is like 30+ degree C) but you can easily fix that through some manual curve fan control honestly gigabyte did a very good price / perf on this card and the custom PCB they made with it is pretty solid as well, i would recommend it (also LED masterrace)

Big Boys im own zalman z3+ so all my component are 40C idle, under boost its 2025/9024 with 77C at 2000rpm (15 min under fur 900p and 8msaa) Higher RPM hurts my ears, highers temps (i bet in bf1 will be a bit over 80) hurt boost 3.0. So i don't now.

MrGlaicer i assume youre talking about the G1 gaming or some other 1070 model? Never came even close to 80 degrees C and my room temperature is friggin almost 32 degrees C somewhere

This one or the EVGA GTX 1070 SC Gaming ACX 3.0 Retail. The EVGA isnt in stock, the Gigabyte is. Sooo. In Germany some people say the gigabyte is loud and it has a significant coil whine. Im debating on wether getting the EVGA which means I have to wait long or the gigabyte and no waiting. Is the Gigabyte better due to the specs or is it in the end not important if I have an EVGA or a Gigabyte?

Benchmarks for the EVGA haven't been too kind in terms of temperatures. In my personal opinion the two best options for the 1070 are the G1 and the MSI Gaming X. MSI is a little quieter, but is roughly 30 dollars more. But to answer your question I personally wouldn't wait for the EVGA SC over the G1. I own the G1 and the temps never go above 60 so the fans don't need to go above 50% - and at 50% or below the noise isn't very noticeable. Coil whine seems to come down to luck, but its not a problem on my card. If you prefer silence over anything though, go with the MSI.

sunt mai multe in stoc acum. E super ok varianta gigabyte si e si mai ieftina decat restul la noi in Romania,deci eu zic sa o cumperi cat inca poti. Vezi ca pe shop4pc.ro este 2288 lei cu tot cu transport.

daca ti le faci de la pcgarage(mie-mi place de ei,dar sunt extrem de jegosi rau cu firma lor) o sa iesi cu milioane mai mult degeaba. Iti recomand sa intrii pe www.price.ro si cauti acolo orice componenta vrei si iti da acolo cele mai bune preturi de pe site-urile din Romania. E alegerea ta daca vrei sa ii sustii,chiar daca nu ai de ce si-si bat joc de toata chestia asta. Tu stii de cate ori au pus ei reduceri de 40% si tot era cel mai scump din tara?=))) . Oricum,sper sa fii fericit cu oricare alegere! ;)
