There are 4x USB 2 ports on the back panel because there isn't the chipset bandwidth to support additional fast ports. Chipset bandwidth: PCIe 4.0x4 = 7.8 GB/s; Chipset USB usage: 1xUSB-C 3.2Gen2x2 (20G*bit*/s) + 1xUSB-C 3.2 Gen2 header (10Gb/s) + 3xUSB 3.2 Gen2 (3x10Gb/s) + 4xUSB 3.2 Gen1 header (4x5Gb/s) = 80Gb/s = 10GB/s if they were all saturated, and you still have LAN, WiFi, 3 M.2s, SATA and a PCIe slot to account for, all sharing that 4.0x4 chipset link. The USB 2.0 ports are the cost-efficient way to connect low bandwidth keyboards, mice, printers etc.

How are you liking it 8 months later? I was thinking of getting myself one. Price came down and I don't plan to jump into AM5 for at least 2-3 years. I don't want bleeding-edge tech, but want a motherboard that will do me well for peripherals and storage.

I only purchased this X570 Aorus Master last year, put it in a Inwin ATX case paired it with the Ryzen 7 3800X, GSkill 4x8 32GB 3600Mhz and an AMD Sapphire RX580 GPU that at the time was pretty tough to source here in Australia for a reasonable price and while i have been more than happy with the build - I have recently been thinking of performance upgraded but am very reluctant to go as far as jumping to the Z690 series and spending up for DDR5 and the required all new compatible parts and pieces...I would like to be able to ditch the Thunderbolt 3 PCIe card and the 10Gbe PCIe card and have it integrated in a new board to free up some sockets/lanes......I'd be interested to here any thoughts or suggestions though

Dual bios toggle switch killed it for me coz Gigabyte's dual bios is the worst and I've been using Gigabyte for over 20 years now. Either single bios or with manual switch, any one of those is acceptable. Also, and this is just for me, le loss of 1x pcie slot is downgrade. I really wanted to buy this board for those nvme cooling alone, but still.

The old master has a dual bios toggle switch. This one doesn't. Just received this board. It's amazing so far.

@@Vortez a faster Ethernet card would by my first choice, but a Thunderbolt adapter (Gigabyte's own Thunderbolt cards are x1) could be useful down the line. I can't see myself using more than 3 PCIe slots though.

@@Fortnite-96 I'm not sure. I used the Q-Flash to update to the latest BIOS before installing windows, so it wouldn't matter anyway.

Quite true but to be honest I’ve got the exact same problem with a x570 elite, a rx5700xt and a nhd15 in the way. In the end I just pulled, and the plastic tab snapped. I could put it back no problem, the slot is fine. But each time I pull the video card, the same thing happens. Maybe I’m wrong somewhere.

@@TheSlickmicks for my case it's hard to get out need to remove cpu cooler I'm considering upgrading to the master got same board as u but master has better audio just has a DAC built other than the same better CMOS clear metal backplate Intel wifi 6e vs amd better vrm extra m.2 programable switch for $90 more may not be the same for but I'm definitely enjoying the Mobo
