As much as I loathe Sheryl Swoopes and her attitude toward Caitlyn Clark - we gotta keep this real, accurate, and, most of all, in context. Basically the opposite of what Swoopes does when spreading false information about Caitlin Clark. Swoopes scored over 600 points twice during her career. So your statement is factually incorrect. Furthermore, back when Swoopes played, the WNBA regular season was shorter. They didn’t play 40 games as they do now. During Swoopes MVP season in 2000 (she won DPOY that season too) there were only 32 regular season games and she played in 31 of them scoring 643 points (20.7 average). If Swoopes had been able to play 40 regular games that season, her average would have had her scoring 830 points. Maybe she scores more, maybe she scores less. Who knows. Point is, she averaged more than Clark did this season. Again, proper context is needed. Having said the above, Swoopes’ rookie season was NOTHING close to Clark’s and that lone 2000 season was the only season she averaged more points than Clark just did. Further, Swoopes never averaged close the assist numbers Clark posted this season, either. Regardless, the woman was awarded 3 MVP and 3 DPOY awards during her career, which is phenomenal. She clearly was a much better player than she is as an analyst or fan of the game. She’s way out of her element in that regard.

It’s wild how 20 rebounds in a game is incredible by her standards, “even if they are off of her own rebounds.” But 20 assists in a game is whack, because if other players don’t finish the wide open gimmies she sets them up for then she doesn’t get 20 assists. You have to admit it, CC DID NOT live up to expectation. Everyone wanted her to fail so bad, and were so conceited in their own "grown woman's" game, they truly thought they would be schooling CC, or in Swoopes case, at least believing she would be schooled. Neither EVER HAD the statistical season Clark has had in HER ROOKIE YEAR!!! I'm gonna make a prediction, they're gonna Crack a bottle of champagne whenever the fever get eliminated from the playoffs. Cause they will. They're not the full team yet they need to be to make a deep run. They got their Big 3, and a solid foundation. Unfortunately they're weak coming off of the bench and their 2 starters are more really good role players and not legitimate starters. But somehow, these to racist clowns will find a way to blame the fever losing in the playoffs on Clark, and they can have their little whiny laugh. For just being a rookie Caitlin Clark is being picked up fullcourt. I don't think any other players are being covered the same. Also, she's being double and triple-teamed quite a bit as well. Even with teams focused on stopping her she's still putting up these awesome numbers. Name me, rookie or otherwise, anyone else that defenses are that focused on. I'll wait. I tried to watch WNBA basketball before, but to be honest the games aren't as entertaining as the NBA games. Seemingly the women aren't as skilled as their male counterparts. Time after time you can see players missing easy lay-ups. I am watching again now because of Caitlin Clark. Her skillset is something I've never seen in the WNBA. Her range is mad crazy. I am a longtime die-hard Lakers fan, but because of LeBron, as great as he's been for the NBA, my favorite team is hard to watch now. Sheryl Swoopes is just a (hater) and doesn't want any shine to come to Caitlin Clark. Those guys on that show should be giving more push back when she lies about Caitlin Clark's stats. There are more eyes on the WNBA now mostly because of Caitlin Clark and that's a great thing. The WNBA is lucky to have the NBA because without them there'd be no WNBA. Since its inception it has never turned a profit. I've never seen any other business model where money is lost every year and is still around. Some of the WNBA players are crying about a pay gap but I guess they don't understand how businesses work. Before Caitlin Clark came around arenas aren't being soldout as much and attendance was very bad. Be glad that CC22 is around and bringing more eyes to your sport. Sheryl Swoopes should just go away and let the younger generation get their shine instead of hating. That is probably just wishful thinking on my part though.

The WNBA is in trouble. Since the Olympic break, which was only a few weeks, Clark has dominated. Imagine how great she will be next year after a much longer break! Clark is the league MVP. Someone else may be the best player; however, every team adjusted because of Clark. Every player, team, and league benefited because of Clark. By the way, the only person talking about Reese was Reese. Based on team records, Clark made Indiana better and Reese made her team worse. End of story.
