On the contrary, being beaten by Turkoglu's Orlando with a 66-16 Cavs team, by 35 yrs old 50-32 Celtics trio with a 61-21 Cavs team, by even more veteran Dallas while playing with two other superstars, and getting busted by 38 yrs Duncan and 37 yrs old Ginobili, that's the really impressive stat. 20:30 what Gil says here is 100% the nba is at a point where if u even wanna be in the league you have to grind and have talent. Like as the league grows the amount of people playing it grows to, thus increasing the amount of competition there is, which in turn increases the overall talent/athletic ability of all the players

Like this comment. Everything has changed since the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and even the 2000s. Like Gilbert said the dedication to the league wasn’t what it is today. 4 5 6 hours in the gym.. DAILY. Not including the off-season. Medicine, and the way we live is so much different. Stronger bigger guys moving faster. No way they hold up in todays league. 40 years from now it just might be the same conversation we’re having now. 🤷🏽‍♂️

GOAT Criteria: MJ✅🥱 Championships: MJ - 6/6 LBJ - 4/10 FMVPs: MJ - 6 LBJ - 4 MVPs: MJ - 5 LBJ - 4 scoring titles: MJ - 10 LBJ - 1 DPOY: MJ - 1 LBJ - 0 Stls/Assi. titles: MJ - 3 LBJ - 1 Defense: MJ✅🥱 MJ: 9 First Team All-Defense, 1988 DPOY, 3x stls champ, 1 of 4 players to have 200+stls and 100+blks in a season (MJ did it twice), NBA Record for the most blocks in a season by any guard (131), Top 3 in NBA History for stls and blks for guards LeBron: 6 All-Defensive teams, 3rd in voting behind KG and Dwight Howard in the 2011-12 season, 2nd in voting behind Marc Gasol in the 2012-13 season Advanced Stats: MJ✅🥱 PER: MJ (highest in NBA History both regular season and playoffs) OBPM: MJ (contributed more on offense) DBPM: MJ (contributed more on defense) VORP: MJ (highest in NBA History on a per game basis) WS/48: MJ (contributed more to winning) TS%: LeBron (60-65% of career pts within 0-3ft from the basket - BasketballReference.com) LeBron James is the most overrated athlete in sports history 35% 10-16ft (mid-range) 34% 16ft+ on 6 3pta per game 72%FT line = Can't shoot Perimeter Defense: F Reading passing lanes: C Stealing the ball: D Help defense: F Interior Defense: B Hasn't made an All-Defensive team in 10+yrs Led the league in pts let up on defensive 1on1 situations (2012-13 - interestingly one of the same seasons he almost won a DPOY proving how overrated the man is) = Can't play defense On shots with 1min. or less to tie or to win the game LeBron James in the regular season is 19/94 (19%), in the playoffs is 9/25 (36%), and in the finals is 0/7 (0%) ... and to add insult to injury the majority of those shots didn't even win the game. They either tied, went into OT and they won or lost. Now he has the most buzzer beaters in the playoffs, but they aren't game winners so is it really clutch? = Isn't clutch = No handles/finesse When properly evaluating LeBrons career the man realistically isn't even a Top 5 player All-Time And if playing for 20 years accumulating stats makes you the GOAT then thered be no reason to win nor perfect your craft. Seeing how it is LeBron is below mediocre in the categories that matter, it makes his fans had to add longevity to the criteria in order to propel their man in a debate he doesn't belong in

People keep saying that if MJ played for stats, he would have broken Kareem's record. But people forget, that we really didn't think lebron was playing for that scoring record until he was very near it. In fact anyone who think that he was after Kareem's record would look like a fool since Lebron is a pass first guy When he was close though, should he have chosen not to score points just to make it look like he wasn't chasing it Just like last year's scoring title, people keep saying that he was after it so he was stat padding, but the moment that it was clear, they weren't getting in to the play in, he stopped playing.

LeBron being the GOAT is laughable. Does he deserve his flowers for breaking the scoring record? Absolutely. Incredible accomplishment. But Kareem held the record for 40 years. Has more MVPs than LeBron, has more defensive team selections than LeBron, and more championships. And only a small percentage of hardcore NBA fans had Kareem as the GOAT. So how does LeBron who hasn’t accomplished as much as even Kareem, let alone Jordan, and obviously Jordan accomplished more in less time than Bron. How does LeBron having the scoring record make him the GOAT? Doesn’t make sense.

Ppl on purposely not mentioning the competitors of MJ. In that era, even Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge, Mark Price were all-stars. Comparing to LeBron, averagely Jordan played against players who had less athleticism, less size, less strength, in his era only a few can shoot 3s, big man couldn’t run the floor, no one doing handles like shammgod, no eurosteps, no zone defense. They played hustle , but were 20~40-lbs lighter than today. When Jordan left bulls they went from 57 wins to 55 and Bulls almost entered 3rd round, obviously he had a very good team roaster. And Kobe said hand check is nothing big comparing to zone defense. LeBron played in a way better era. LeBron > Jordan
