The documentary on Gilbert’s life was surprisingly warm and made me see him in a different light. He seemed so happy with his life, wife And kids that I am glad to know he enjoyed his life RIP

He was so old school about the family too….always protected them, never mentioned them publicly. You’d only hear from/about his wife after the podcast started since she produced it. As much as everyone goofed on him about being stingy and weird he seemed like a very stand up dude.

@@chrishenry8102 watch him on snl back in the day. His normal voice is deeper. Technically, yes, this is still him "acting". At the same time though, he has done his fake voice for so long that how he sounds in this podcast is as normal as it can be.

the “norm and Harvey Weinstein” story is hilarious. Apparently Harvey was holding court and had a bunch of people around him. At one point Harvey goes “I think Mathew Perry is a genius, what about you Norm?” And Norm goes in his legendary style “….is he really good at math or something?” From that day on apparently Harvey Weinstein hated Norm with a passion and that makes me like Norm that much more

Yeah, the slowness is actually why I came to comments: to see how people reacted. I'm glad people actually appreciated Joe for his patience, and just treated Gilbert like any other guest. The variety of personalities is what makes the show special, and sometimes someone talk like an older fun uncle at the dinner table is nice.

Joe has the best interview/conversation skills of anyone that has a mainstream talk show, podcast or whatever interview isn't really the right word though he's genuinely interested in what his guests have to say he doesn't have a set of scripted questions and there are no fucks given about asking the tough questions he's in a very unique position and has brought together so many different kinds of people who would've never united otherwise his approach to everyday life and living in our country has become 100's of thousands of people's lighthouse for traversing through our complicated social, woke and, cancel cultures which at times seem to impose the same kind of oppression and moral shame that they themselves stand against...

In the early 90s I saw Gilbert at a comedy club in New Jersey. 2nd or 3rd row. I never laughed so hard. He told the most vile stories, just layered one on top of the other. We’ll miss you so much Gilbert. The best.

His character Peabody from the Problem Child films with the late John Ritter were part of my VHS collection as a kid in the 90s. Good times.
He said he started comedy in the late '60's. He has been at it for over 50 years.

R.I.P. Gilbert Gottfried. In this appearance on "The Joe Rogan Show" podcast, Gottfried is speaking in the voice of the character he did all the years of his stand-up comedy career. Apparently his real voice was very soft-spoken. So sad that he died at just 67 years-old!😢

I didn’t know Gilbert too well as a comedian because I grew up in the 2000s. He played the robo bird in cyber chase and his character always made me laugh and put me in a good mood. Such a talent at making people happy. Rest In Peace G man.

He's right of course. I remember as a kid watching Saturday night live with a friend of mine and we couldn't believe when they announced the cast change from the originals. We honestly thought it was a bit and they were joking. But some of those unknowns they brought out on stage that night including Eddie Murphy went on to be the best cast they ever had on SNL.
