With BTK, those of us that lived in Park City still cannot believe the wife did not know anything. I cannot speak to what DR's daughter went through, but my cousin had to work with Dennis as the other compliance officer. He was controlling, belittling, yelling and the one thing that really stuck with me was, Mary always had to follow a certain route while surveilling for violations or loose pets. From what she told me, if she strayed from the route he told her to go, she would be reprimanded and be written up, also if she didn't write the path down as she went. He would cause grief and belittlement.

@@vernareed2692 It is not that I do not believe her, but I would be willing to go so far as to say the wife in some respects is a victim of control of Dennis as well, from what I know, it's not first hand knowledge, but it was given to me from a coworker of Paula's at a gas station where she worked and did some accounting, I believe that is what was relayed to me that is why she was at this place. So im in no way saying she couldn't have known, but I know she kept herself busy. Sorry for being so cryptic, but I am not here to defame anyone at all.

@@devaux01the wife saw a therapist to talk about finding him crossed dressed. The therapist said it was ok that men do those things and it was just a phase. Since it Enver happened again she wrote it off. He was a scout leader and head of his church. He was deep into his community that he came off as a regular joe. Women -during her time- accepted men’s negative behavior more easily. The me too movement has women feeling more empowered -obviously not Rex’s wife. Not judging her but she looks disheveled and worn out and looks like she has an eating g disorder. I sense the entire family was operating as a dysfunctional unit and were codependent on each other.

I feel nothing but sympathy for Kerri and all the families of serial killers. Kerri is so brave to speak out and advocate for the innocent victims traumatized by finding out what their loved one has done. It's really important I think to hear what Kerri has to say because she is one of only a handful of people who can understand and explain what may be happening with both the killer and their family. Yes! The family of the killers are absolutely victims in their own right. The son of family friends of ours went to prison for killing two women, his family are the kindest most empathetic people and all worked so hard to support the families of the victims and ensure that their son got the maximum punishment for what he did. I'll respect them for the rest of my life. Kerri is such a powerhouse and she does such a great job of helping people understand what these families go through.

Amen Lori Wagner. Great insight. It's so interesting in that when my brothers passed; I was really struggling with my ability to stay aware (which is not possible in grief) but I kept loosing touch, so much so, I couldn't even drive a car. The outreach and depth of sincerity of strangers in my community whose grace had helped me in ways I can not explain. I've heard Kerri Rawson, the daughter of the BTK serial speak before, but for some reason I wept for her trauma this time. I think because this current killer is so "real" and his family looks like they are abused, I now understand how terrible it must have been for her. I am praying for her peace of mind, and the same for the Heuermann family. If his wife immediately sued for divorce, it means that they have gone through hell with him for years as a bad husband and family. Now she can leave him because she has protection after his arrest. Great interviews, Vinnie!

@@zombieboobies I see where your coming from & agree with you however the bottom line is we don't know what sort of abuse was going on in that house if he's a narcisist which I suspect he is they can keep people so busy spinning their wheels & energy on nothing as a distraction on what he was doing. Narcisists are predators & predators have all sort of insidious tricks up their sleeve for chaff & redirect keeping the heat off them being questioned much by those that are suppose to be close to them. They especially like to demoralize, destroy self esteem & self confidence undermining clear thinking. They have no soul. For anyone living with a narcisist or has dealt with a narcisist they know first hand there's a lot more to how he treated his family than has come out yet. Suspicious or not about a partner I don't know anyone that is quick to go to the extreme of thinking their partner is a SK. They might know something is wrong or not quite right but thst doesn't mean they caught just how bad it was. Once again it goes to chaff & redirect.

Thank you, Kerri for your honesty. Very sad your father was so abusive. Yet, important for people to know that allowing a family member to keep secret spaces, combative behavior are serious red flags. Too dangerous to stay. To leave though follow the Domestic Violence procedures. I think of Nicole Brown Simpson too. Photos in safe deposit box. Leaving a bad situation is extremely dangerous. Misled Judges demanding visitation rights that will reveal your location. Why I say contact DV center. Learn how to leave safely. This family was fortunate but also prisoners emotionally, physically to a madman. They gambled too much though. He could have snapped at any moment to kill them too. Sadly, I believe he preserved and motivated family to stay close because he needed to maintain a level of normal. To fool others and fend off the LE. LE did such an excellant job of not putting family into harms way. Had they first questioned the family before arrest? RH might have killed them to quiet them or hold them as hostages. Police talking to family first would also serve as a warning sign to him, to run. Another reason for this man to have mulitiple escape locations.

Kerri, your amazing. Your bravery and taking your reality and putting yourself out there to help others, is very heroic. I wouldn't blame you or your family (or the Heuermann's) for never wanting to talk about any of this. But you do, so thank-you. And thank you for defending like you said the innocent family. They too are victims.

@@RachelDoesntknow Have you read the study about Personality Disorder Symptoms and Marital Functioning? “The results of this study suggest that presently, ‘personality traits should be central to any analysis of why relationships thrive or falter, and they appear to be appropriate targets for intervention.’"

@@heatherloughlin544 I responded to Rachel's comment, and she immediately deleted it. She does not seem well-versed on this topic, based on both her comment and the fact that she deleted her comment the moment I suggested she deepen her own study into a multidisciplinary approach. I appreciate you mentioning this study, as I have personally not read this particular study. Thank you for adding to the topic in a meaningful way.

If someone is mistreating strangers, it's reasonable to assume they're likely mistreating their own families as well. This thought has always occupied my mind. If their behavior towards strangers is so appalling, one can only imagine the suffering their families endure. My heart sympathizes with all the victims, their families, and even the families of those who commit such heinous acts.

While I appreciate the sympathy and concern expressed for the family, I’m disappointed that you guys displayed a clear photo of his wife that was almost certainly taken without her consent during the worst period of her life. I know that kind of thing happens all the time (photos without consent), but this one feels really icky since you literally pointed out that she was totally innocent and her life was turned upside down WHILE an unflattering photo of her was on the screen :(

Kerri Rawson you are truly an inspiration! You’ve faced what I can only imagine the worst of the worst situations put on you and your family and managed to turn it around to helping others!❤ your one incredible lady and i have nothing but the upmost admiration for you! I grew up the 2nd oldest of 11 in a house where both parents used violence as a form of discipline! I forgive my mum as I witnessed her cry for taking her frustration out on me but I will never forgive my monster of a dad as I was his fix! I’m 55 and still have hate even though I escaped from his monstrous ways at the age of 17, he left my mum 3 months after me for another woman never ever paying child maintenance for 7 children under the age of 7 and the rest above but the saving grace was the violence halted❤ I never allowed myself to become a victim, I don’t understand those who’ve been abused then become abusers, I’m Fortunate I gave a good sense of humour, also was sporty throughout my childhood and looking back that’s probably what saved me, I’ve road ran for past 35 years, running is my energy booster, antidepressants and my me time, good work ethic too, always worked 2-3 jobs, M&S for 15 years, HND beauty therapy at 32 then nursing degree aged 44, I appreciate little things, love my life…spent my younger years in abusive relationships, looking back all down to undervalued myself, now in the most loving relationship with a partner that’s has no insecurities, jealousy is an evil disease, will never understand jealousy, thank you for sharing your story and showing those out there struggling within a violent, narcissistic environment that there is hope and you can survive and come out the other end stronger and possibly helping others like yourself 🙏❤️🙏

I understand your grief and the conflict in feeling multiple things at once. I had a sick mom complete suicide. I continue to take care and allow myself to heal. You are an inspiration to people who have parents act in ways they can't control. Much Love❤
