The New Long Comb is my favorite razor! For me, it strikes the perfect balance between efficiency and comfort.

I can see how that could be true for many people. I think it's a fantastic medium aggression razor. It's probably the razor I'll start my son out with when it's his turn to learn how to shave for real.

Extremely well done sir! That was awesome!

Thanks, man. I try to give as much information as I can. Probably let this one get a bit too long, but there was a lot to cover.

Nice comparison video with good history notes. Just a note: the New Deluxe never came in a red and black case. The New Deluxe was their high end razor which sold for $5-$7.50 while the Red and black was a 59¢ razor.

There were so many variants of the packaging that I do get them mixed up. My Deluxe was given to me in a Red and Black case, but I don't know if that was the original packaging or not.

Great comparison video. Those 2 razors are in amazing condition for being 90 years old! SoCal Hipster is in my Top 3 scents for A&E. A&E has so many unique scents like PAA. Asian Plum and Khalifa are the other 2 in my Top 3. Douglas and Peter are absolute masters.

I plan to try some more A&E soaps soon. I have a sample of Spartacus on the way.

Thank you. I love vintage razors. For a while there, every open comb razor I owned was gold, too. I like the gold, it's just not as durable as Nickel.

Great shave man. I haven’t tried A&E yet but I plan on it. Those are definitely some nice looking razors. I have used my Gillette Slim for three shaves now and I really love it. So glad I bought a vintage Gillette. Keep em coming bro!

Thanks, Peyton. A&E is a really good performing soap. I wasn't very fond of this particular scent, though. I bought a sample of Spartacus with a recent Maggard order, so we'll see how that one goes. I think vintage razors are awesome, I just wish more of them worked well for me. Not many get as aggressive/efficient as I like.

1 of the very 1st vintage razors I got was the Old Type.. It broke my heart.. 1 of the very few razors I didn't like!

I have a 1918 that I used in my Old vs New video earlier this year. I don't love mine either. Not quite efficient enough for me without shimming, which is a hassle. It's hard to get rid of it just because of the cool factor of using a razor that's over 100 years old.
@firecured17013 жыл бұрын
@@TheShavingDisciple true!! (The inefficient part).. Came up with an efficiency test of my own.. If u have 2 go over the same spot over & over it's not efficient.. & BTW I sometimes do shim but then again I'd rather have a (like u said) no-hassle razor.. 🍻
@TheShavingDisciple3 жыл бұрын
@@firecured1701 My thoughts exactly. When I got to the point where 5 shims was the sweet spot in my New LC, I decided it was time for a more efficient razor.

@@TheShavingDisciple thing is everything comes at a price, if u overdo shimming u may get blade shatter.. But then again that is what I love about wet shaving; unlike with carts, a room for experimenting / hacks / tweaks / etc.. 🍻
