Zealadinn Why are people so uncomfortable with dudes in spandex. It’s athletic, hard to grab when wrestling, and prevents snags so you can be even more focused on the task at hand. If you were muscular enough to fill it out nonetheless, people would not say shit to you about it. When my slight built, awkward son was in the seventh grade, a few eighth grade boys would find him in the school playground to harass and bully him (country school). He informed the supervising teachers what was going on but nothing abated it. With 2 teachers supervising 400 kids at recess in the school yard, they can't watch everywhere all the time. My son complained to me. I told him that "the next time this happens, approach the biggest kid and ram your fist into his nose so hard it comes out the back of his head". I told him I will support him no matter what, even if he gets suspended, it's ok. He did it. Problem solved. My son told me, "actually, I think Alex and I are friends now". I told him," no, he's not your friend, it's just that you're not an easy target anymore so is leaving you alone. Don't mistake that for friendship". Toxic masculinity? Maybe so, but there's a time when a man, even a seventh grade kid has to step up and be a man. Girls are more ruthless at bullying other girls. They are catty, back stabbing gossips who create and spread rumors. Still bullying, just different tactics with deeper and longer lasting scars that can last a lifetime for the bullied girl. Toxic femininity? yep. Now create that ad, Gillette.

He probably thought him and the bully were friends because generally after two people fight hand to hand there is a mutual respect that develops, a bond forged in combat sort of. A lot of pro fighters who have no respect for each other before the fight have a similar reaction, even the cockiest of fighters will hug it out with his opponent and show respect win or lose most of the time. I totally agree though that sometimes men just need to step up and be a man. And that's the perfect time to do it. That's why if I ever have a kid, boy or girl, I'm gonna put them martial arts of all kinds from a young age. Just having the confidence to know that you can do something to someone if you have to is excellent for a young persons self esteem. It removes fear and anxiety from their otherwise anxiety ridden days at school, just knowing that they can handle someone if push comes to shove. We girls are more clandestine with our bullying definitely. Where as men got the natural physical mass to hurt someone, we got the emotional and mental advantage I assume as an adaptive trait. Gossip and backstabbing and rumors. It's almost worse actually. Actually it is worse than being physically bullied. It's why I don't have many friends who are actually girls being a girl myself and I'm in my 30's, all cus I know how petty we can be to each other. I'd much rather settle beef with a girl with using my many years in combat sports than have to deal with them coming up with creative ways of harassing me. I actually started learning Karate and Judo in middle school specifically for the purpose of defending myself from girls who were ramping up the bullying to the point where they actually were physically pushing me around. So after a few months I had a handful of techniques down good enough to where I just egged them on one day, daring them to walk into a trap, to the point where they tried to slap fight me(you have to frustrate them a lot in order to illicit a physical attack from most girls) and I just immediately crumpled this one bitch with a front leg side kick to the jaw as she was coming at me, and the combined force knocked her almost totally unconscious, and then did a head-in-arm toss with an outside trip on one of the other girls and slammed her onto the carpet. I would've beat all of them up but teachers started rushing in. I did get suspended cus the first girl had to go to the hospital cus I had concussed her, but she'd been trying to get me to kill myself for over a year and I had complained to everybody in the school at that point and they, like usually, did nothing, so IMO that's justified - probably taught her a valuable lesson not to engage someone physically if you don't know what you're doing. No one ever messed me with me again at that school. If any of them even thought about looking at me weird to try and piss me off, I'd give em a small feint and they'd go running like a scared cats.
