in brief: In this video, the speaker shares various ways to monetize one's knowledge, including writing books, creating courses, and offering services. They also discuss their experience in building a multi-six figure information business and provide recommendations for those interested in entering the information industry. Key points: 1. Monetizing knowledge starts with turning it into a product and figuring out how to sell it. 2. Consider various formats for presenting your knowledge, such as books, courses, services, or live workshops. 3. Narrow down your ideas and choose one to test before fully committing to it. 4. Talk to potential customers to understand their needs, desires, and obstacles. 5. Outline your product and resist the temptation to create the full product before testing demand. 6. Start by offering a live workshop to gauge interest and gather feedback from potential customers. 7. Instead of mass marketing tactics, focus on individual conversations for higher conversion rates, especially when starting out. 8. Automate either the product itself or the marketing of the product, but not both at the same time. The speaker discusses the process of turning knowledge into a profitable online business by creating and selling digital products. They suggest first creating an automated version of the product to free up time for marketing. Then, work on automating marketing through methods like email marketing, webinars, workshops, and other online platforms. The speaker emphasizes the importance of taking advantage of the opportunity and starting with the first step: brainstorming product ideas and talking to potential customers. They offer a list of 100+ digital product ideas for those needing inspiration. The speaker encourages viewers to like and subscribe for more content on starting and building an online business. By following these steps, you can create, test, and sell information products while minimizing risk and maximizing profitability.

Beautiful. Thank-you Gillian. As someone who spent years creating an online course and over a decade trying to promote it with not much to show in return I 100% agree to take your product idea to market BEFORE you create the automated version of it to test your market and make sure there are people who want it. That's what I teach my own students now to save them the heartache and wasted energy, time and money that I did. Big hugs 💖

I have so many ideas for my business and things I want to do. My issue has always been in giving them structure and planning out a path to see them through and select which ones to go for. This video, and all your videos in general, are honestly so good for me to help me organise my ideas, learn to prioritise and plan what and how I want to achieve it. Thanks again for a great video!

My biggest take away...let the audience help you create your course that addresses their problem. Of I use to be a car salesman so I will share my story adding human element rather than just being only product focus (buy!buy!). People who can resonate more with you as the brand is what separates you from someone else who may be doing a similar niche. You are the niche.

Hi, @gillianzperkins first I thankful for you putting out this content. This one specifically it is the answers to my prayers. I do have a couple of questions? Pricing...what is a good picing range for the one hour workshops? Also participants, what's a minimum number of paying participants for conducting? And time how much time generally between creating the workshop outine and conducting has been your average? Again thanks and I hope that you see my questions.

This is great information! When I created my first online course, I wish I would’ve done a lot of these steps…pre-sell or do a live webinar. I did spend months per-recording my course and then launched it. It took a few months after launch to get the sells off the ground. The course is doing great now. But, certainly I learned from the mistakes I made on the first course and made adjustments. And I LOVE Automation! Thanks for sharing this content!

Do you 'sell' a worshop (the first workshop) as in.... 'market it, or - do you mean sell, as in receive money for this first workshop?
@IAmCorrieLo2 жыл бұрын
It’s easier to sell the workshop, as in having people actually pay you for it, before you create the content for it because then you know you’re creating something people will pay for. So to answer your question, it’s both. You have to market something in order to sell it. Hope this helps!

Hi Gillian long time I lost my mom a little over a year ago and lost myself. I’m frustratED BECAUSE I feel like I no longer know anything
@VanessaKittredge2 жыл бұрын
I hope you don’t mind my responding. I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom about five years ago and the grief is unimaginable. It will soften with time. The first year is so painful. First Christmas, first Mother’s Day, first everything. Our identity is so wrapped up in our mom. It’s complex. You will find yourself but be gentle. It is a work in progress. It’s never fully solved. It evolves. Do something to honor your mom and make you feel connected to her like a little garden or something. Invest in self care. A monthly massage. Weekly yoga. Daily meditation. Get outside. Sunshine. Walk. Hike. Take yourself on a date. Read a new book. Be very patient and gentle with yourself. Your ideas and inspiration will shift. Creativity will come. Hugs 💐

I figure out "What its all about?" and wrote a book and in HTML for the ebook seven years ago. Seems nobody wants to know the paradigm, they just want their fuzzy boxes to watch cutie kitties and adorable doggies. Are you in the USA? I'll send you a free copy, I just want to know what you personally think about it. I talk about it online and get nothing but banned and shadow blocked by other people in the genre. This is the second time, long ago I patented a very beneficial device and found out the same thing. People instantly go into denial, incredulousness, and outright shunning. My friends say I should write a book "Cutie Kitties & Adorable Doggies", but I can't do it.
