I felt so bad for Lorelai when Rory dropped out and was living with her grandparents. She should’ve appreciated her mom much more and I know it was hurting both of them not to talk to each other.
@lauriecarson64832 жыл бұрын
It's a show. Rory does appreciate what her mom does for her. All kids figjt with their parents and not talk to them for awhile.

Not talking was Lorelai’s choice. I felt bad for Lorelai too, but Rory wasn’t making the decision to hurt her. I didn’t agree with her method of ‘tough love’.

How could EMILY think that living in her house & being in the DAR is the best choice for Rory?She never knew LORALIE and obviously doesn't know RORY.Incredibly selfish that one.
@lunalove93954 жыл бұрын
I think she was excited by the prospect of turning Rory into everything that Lorelai wasn't - and the status it gave her with friends by her being in the DAR. She seemed to think Rory taking time off was temporary anyway, so probably thought she'd get the best of both worlds. It was def selfish though.
@idfy25994 жыл бұрын
@@lunalove9395 agreed. But Emily ALWAYS wants something in return for what she calls , helping. What she gets is RORY'S company . She wants much more That's why Loralie didn't want anything from her parents. They don't do anything for JUST LOVE. There's always strings. There's an episode called THOSE ARE THE STRINGS Pinocchio. Loralie knows very well who her Mother is. Or the Gilmore's.

The thing that really annoyed me is that Lorelai specifically told Emily and Richard all the problems that Rory faced at the end of season 5, i.e. being attacked by the Huntzbergers when she had dinner at their house, the feedback from Mitchum (although after re-watching that I didn’t consider him to be a ‘villain’ at all), stealing the yacht etc. Emily seemed angry that the Huntzberger’s thought that Rory wasn’t ‘good enough’ for Logan, and Richard seemed shocked about the feedback from Mitchum. But then they shrugged all that off (at least for a while until that DAR party that Rory planned and Logan’s parents attended), and even lied and tried to claim that Lorelai hadn’t told them how bad things had gotten for Rory. I do think that Lorelai, as the parent, could have handled things better though - not talking to Rory and not even wanting to tell her about her engagement was wrong IMO. But then again I don’t want characters to be perfect and not make mistakes !
