I was born in 90(in Africa tho😂) and didn't come to the states until February of 02 and still then i was a soccer fan and didn't know anything about Basketball. What i am trying to say is Kobe is my 🐐 and will always be. I reside in japan now and when he passed it was morning here. I always wake up checking on Espn or world news and when i saw his passing i instantly lost my breath. I only believed it because i had about 10 family members in the states call me or text me about his passing. I literally cried for two weeks straight bro. I haven't cried like this since MJ( King of Pop) passed away. Sorry for the long comment, this one just hurts alot.

Jordan was my guy being an 80’s baby. Having watched him grow up in the spotlight, Being on my basketball journey at the same time he was, and getting to watch his career was a highlight for me. My admiration and respect for who he was encompassed me when his daughter, himself, and the others were taken on that awful day. I cried like a baby for him and his family. Rest well all of you who were taken that day.

I am a non athletic female, but I have two sons who played high school and college sports. I respected Kobe’s game, but I loved his humanity and heart the most. He was growing into the best humanitarian. He loved people. I cried for hours when he transitioned, because I felt the loss the world would feel with his absence. I’m thankful his wife and family are continuing his and Gigi’s legacy.

Kobe’s legacy is this. You to can be great if you are willing to put in more work and work harder than everybody else. Sacrifice your personal life and focus on the work of being the best you can be. Then team those up with the confidence and the will to go out and execute at a high level. And never give less than 100% effort. Do those things and you will be great at whatever it is you do. That’s his legacy

Remember when i was a kid, and it was very rare to get an opportunity to watch nba game, my mom turned on TV and it was NBA game, Lal vs chicago. I saw kobe, jump shot, dunk and straight away i realise that this is something i never ever saw in my life. Since then i became a fan of him up to this day, even having near my bed his huge picture "what does basketball means to you" "kobe bryant - championship rings" . I am 31y old guy and every single time im watching a highlight, or a tribute to Kobe, always crying like a little girl. Mamba out

I did not get to see Jordan from the beginning I was born in 87 but I did get to watch him in his prime and will never forget those times ! But I got to see Kobe come into the league straight from high school and saw him just absolutely kill everybody his whole entire career ! The way he would score from All over the court and hit literally the toughest shots you can possibly take and make it look easy ! my first NBA game my mom got tickets to go down to portland and watch them play the lakers, i have vivid memories of watching Kob on the court and i can remember from that game specifically he went 20-20 from the line. i think he finished with 42 and he put on a masterclass that night, i was in awe over kobe for 48 minutes even though i was really there to watch LaMarcus Aldridge play. when i got home a few days later & told my dad his response was “there’s a reason i bought you a kobe jersey when u were a kid”, i had a youth size uniform set and wore that shit all the time as a lil kid.

I’m a short white boy from Utah, and I used to hate Kobe since he’d give the Jazz the business. I had my little girl a few months before his passing, and when I knew we were having a girl is when I started to hear about Kobe the person, not Kobe the baller. I grew so much respect for him as a father watching the way he talked about his girls and I wanted to be a dad like Kobe. Coming from someone who didn’t appreciate his talent enough while it was there but seeing all the other things and then hearing his passing that morning I felt like I lost a brother.

Lifetime laker fan since 1980. I've watched the NBA religiously since I say Magic take down the Sixers in Game 6. Jordan is the GOAT but I have never loved another player like Kobe. He was just incredible theater all the way to the end. What a show. I loved when he would catch the ball on the wing isolated and all of staples center would start buzzing and you just felt bad for the defender cuz you KNEW he was about to get cooked. He knew it and the entire arena knew it was just a matter of what kind of foot wor par excellence he was gonna hit him with. What a show it was!
