The latest installment of JamBase's 'Gimme Shelter In Place' video series features Surprise Me Mr. Davis' performance of "Sissyfus" at The Chapel in San Francisco on June 1, 2019.
Last June, JamBase’s 20th anniversary celebration concert was held at The Chapel in San Francisco. The JamBase 20 concert lineup was chosen to reflect the past, present and future of live music with a trio of acts, each sharing a special relationship with JamBase. The lineup at The Chapel consisted of the Camp Harry All-Stars, which was revealed to be a Surprise Me Mr. Davis along with Ron Artis II and Big Light.
Surprise Me Mr. Davis features Nathan Moore, Brad Barr, Marc Friedman and Andrew Barr. The quartet started their set with an a capella "Tombstone" and went on to play such classic originals as "As Long As There's One Of Us Standing," "When A Woman" and "Everything Must Go" plus a cover of The Rolling Stones' "19th Nervous Breakdown." One of the highlights of the performance was an 11-minute "Sissyfus" containing plenty of jamming from Brad, Marc and Andrew, aka The Slip.
