Today, I showed you a way to foil that's fast and easy, and NO HEAT IS REQUIRED! No getting the temperature right or the need for extra tools with this technique! Get perfect foiling with no black specks and achieve gorgeous shiny detail. This is such a fun way to get started with foil or to add to your collection of foiling supplies!

You are so cute and excited. I love foil rub ons and have used them for years, but love my foil press more. Good option for people trying foil, but once addicted, get the machine as the $5 adds up! Have fun.

I LOVE IT! I was thinking. I got out what is called rub-ins and it came in a Crafters Companion Subscription box. And the foil came with an alphabet die set. So I tried your technique and it works with that rub-on too! Now what was sitting in a drawer can be used. And it even foils clean. At least I can use it up.

This was an excellent video. Right now I do not want to invest in a laminator or a hot foil machine or anything like that. But I love the look of foil. I just went over to Therm-O and ordered there since I wanted to check out Unity's sheets as well. I am SUPER excited about this and I sure hope it is as beautiful as it looked in your live! I love the look of foiling but I really did not want to go down the route of buying more equipment and more specialty dies etc. Beautiful? Sure, but like you said after awhile you get tired of it and this is such a great alternative! woohoo :D Can't wait to get this, and I sure hope you come out with more designs in the future!

Missed the live, but the replay is fantastic! On the waitlist for the kit & I am looking forward to trying this design. TFS. Question. Why would you trim the foil to the design if the foil only sticks to something sticky?

Just to preserve as much of your foil as possible. Running a full sheet through your die cutting machine may damage the edges of it, etc. You don't have to, but it'll likely save some hassle or loss of good foil. As you saw, if you trim a piece to fit, you end up with a handy, pre-sized negative image to use immediately as well. Cheers :)

I'm quite late to the party as they say, but I do have a question. I am older and have a good selection of foils from a lot of different brands, and remember something like 20ish years ago, we could get similar products for adhering foils. We just burnished the foil on with those products. While running it through a die cutting machine to get good adherence makes sense, could we just burnish the foil on with a bone folder or back of a spoon, for example? I only ask because these days, some craft products are well engineered, and if it is best to use the pressure of a die cutting machine, or burnishing somehow isn't a good choice for these foils, it'll be helpful to know. Thanks in advance, and thanks for the super informative and inspiring video. :)
