The Rourou Iti Tiny House - built by Build Tiny in Katikati, New Zealand.
Working with clients to bring their own tiny house design to life is so rewarding for our team. These clients came to us with a well refined vision of their dream tiny home. Everything from the overall layout down to the flooring were carefully considered against a set of values to create a sustainable, warm, dry conscious home. They thought deeply about the way they wanted to live, both now and in the future. The result is Rourou Iti - a stunning, well considered, liable tiny house that’s perfect for this whanau. The extensive Bamboo bench tops give loads of space for food preparation, and the shelves above are the perfect place to store refillable jars of dry goods and kitchen things used all the time. Everything has an intentional home in this tiny house, even a special cupboard in the bathroom for storing essential oils, and a custom made laundry basket that fits under the angled bathroom benchtop. The access into the lofts are via a central step ladder with built in storage. It’s not as easy to use as a traditional ladder, but is very space efficient, sleek in its design, and still manages to pack in loads of storage. From the top of the stairs you can walk between the two lofts comfortably along a walking platform that floats above the couch downstairs. The master loft has ample built-in storage, and the second loft features a single bed and a study nook with a recessed floor section to make sitting at the desk super comfortable. The Rourou Iti tiny house was the 50th house made by the team at Build Tiny, so to mark the occasion we celebrated with cake! Wonderful! So much storage and a fantastic bathroom. I love that it has all you could ever need: a big kitchen, a space for a big sofa, even a studio/guest bedroom and a big wardrobe in the main bedroom! This design has some of my favorite features, like the storage stairs and a good size wardrobe, and it also include a sort of hallway between the two sleeping areas where you can stand up, so smart! I've always loved tiny living, I live in a 9 square metres appartment and i'd love to move in a tiny house like that! It would be so much bigger and comfy :)

I’m amazed by the presentation of the house. It is so natural and easy to watch, gives the vibe which you would like to have in your own design. This house is very nice,actually feels like a home.Love your design and the thought that went into the leg space in the bedroom was genius.Really liked the passageway to the other bedroom and the stairs are nice instead of ladder.I'm 71 and ican go up stairs not so much ladders.The only thing I would change is the composting toilet but the rest is perfect, there is alot of storage both downstairs and the loft areas.Good job well done,you guys are a great team.

Interesting design. I'm not sure about the tiny refrigerator. The stairs look a little treacherous, especially when you have to get up at 3 am. for bathroom visit. Great for young vacationers.

In a very small footprint, you have created a lot of space and functions. A small issue I see is that people banging their heads on the bridge/walkway when they get straight up from the couch. Hope you installed a foam underneath the bridge :)
