This is sooooo much fun ! I love Jack and Ginger. I just read a bio-autobio about Jack. Written by his daughter with parts of an autobiography started by Jack. It was really interesting. I've just been watching Ginger movies on TCM -- so this was just at the right time for me !! Thank you - loved every minute of it !

I love this clip. Ginger and Jack were great. It was an enjoyable episode. I wish more of Ginger's TV work would be released. I caught this on a PBS station airing old Jack Benny shows. Thanks.

At 2:54, the expression on Ginger's poor face where Ginger realizes that Jack is her dance partner is priceless!

2:55 When both Ginger and Jack stare at the camera, it's gold.

What a delight! I remember his shows, but this one is new to me! Thanks so much for posting. Jack never changed, but Ginger looked as lovely as she did in her collaborations with Fred! Thanks so much for posting!

@Dayniac4324 I'm so happy you liked it, Toni! Jack is so much fun, but I'm really in love with Ginger. It's a pitty I can't watch TCM. I watched a clip advertising the month tribute to her and it was so beautiful that I imagine how entertaining and thrilling the tribute is. Kisses Dani

Oriignally aired on November 3, 1957. The filmed episodes that Jack appeared in during this period were NOT staged before a live studio audience; this is how he was able to work the double into the dance sequence, and introduce "himself" as the double at the end...it wasn't until production of the filmed shows moved to to Desilu in 1959 that he staged them before a live audience...

Did you know that when Ginger Rogers was young, she met Jack Benny who found her funny due to her impression of Sophie Tucker? Her mother was an entertainment journalist in Dallas and when Jack Benny went through there via Vaudeville, he would get together with Rogers' family. It's on pg. 45 of her autobiography.

Ginger looks like the Baroness Scraeder (Eleanor Parker in the "Sound of Music").

@zavdrums I totally agree with you! Ginger was a wonderful dancer and actress. This show is really funny - Ginger and Jack are perfectly matched.

@keleigh97 I think so too! Ginger is older and looks more serious in this video. That's why I love her face when she realizes she is dancing with Jack instead of Fred!

@apokryltaros hehe, yes, I LOVE it too! Ginger was a true comedienne!
@keleigh9714 жыл бұрын
@megchristie1 Yes, her facial expression says it all. She could always say more with a look or expression than mere words would express. That is one of the reasons she is such a multi-talented actress. I wish someone would realize her vaule and assemble her TV work for sale.

@megchristie1 @megchristie1 As much as I disliked the Baroness in The Sound of Music, Ginger does resemble her. A lot of it has to do with the hair style, I think.

Artistin war sie auch noch. Jedenfalls hier. Jack Benny war sehr von sich eingenommen. Das ist gar nicht soo lustig. Da gefällt mir Fred Astaire in seiner gleitenden Art besser.
