I am no longer selling Louiis or Wiiboy Colors. The parts needed to build them are no longer available to buy due to the global chip shortage, which is not likely to improve anytime soon. I'm focusing my attention on creating new projects and making videos on them, which should be more fun and fulfilling for me. I will occasionally build a portable and then put it up for sale once it is finished. I'll post about it on Twitter, Instagram, and my website whenever I have one available for sale, otherwise you should assume that I have nothing to sell at this time. My prices are over $1000 due to the very high demand and the time needed to put one together. And I apologize for the long wait for more videos, I've got a lot of plans for this year and hopefully I'll be able to make them all come to fruition. Thanks for watching!

@@noahdavis7406 Sunshine is amazing .. a must play for any Mario or Nintendo fan. Getting a GameCube isn't a bad idea, not only will you have sunshine but you'll be able to play a huge Library full of some of the best first party Nintendo games ever released. Or you can get a Wii since it's backwards compatible with Gamecube. So then you'll have access to the entire GameCube and Wii library as well.. but if you do that you just have to make sure you get the right model because towards the end of the Wii's lifespan they started releasing Wii consoles that weren't backwards compatible with Gamecube, so you'd have to get one of the earlier models.

@@TOMMYTV-xl5fb I'm actually quite aware on the Wii models thing. I grew up with a GameCube but I never actually played any of the first party titles on it. After I had gotten a Wii, I somehow lost track of the GameCube (I assume it was sold by my parents) and I never actually thought to get GameCube games for the Wii. The Wii was eventually replaced by my Wii U and I actually somehow managed to keep that one when I got my Switch. Overall, I never actually got to check out the GameCube's library specifically and I'm a bit saddened by it.

@@GingerOfOz It's possible, but Nintendo would probably have to work with NVidia to get around issues with the CPU and GPU drivers. The state of GCN and Wii emulation on the Nintendo Switch is very rough but a lot of games are playable.

If Nintendo is willing to put in the work there are definitely people out there who would love to play their favorite N64, GCN, DS and Wii games all on the same console. It's pretty easy money to be made there, I think they would make so much profit even if they invested a generous amount of money into optimizing Virtual Console on Switch. I wouldn't even complain if they released a sensor bar necessary for some games or made some games only run in docked mode.

There are a couple of projects that build a portable Wii into the Gamepad, but all of the ones built so far use a spacer in the back. Somebody should definitely revisit the idea though, I'd love to see one built super clean.

Mr Domo look at the Nintendo Switch it took Nintendo a multi billion dollar company 2 years for the idea of the switch to be made, then announced the switches hardware another 2 years later, finally being shown to the public in a year later, but didn’t even release until 5 months later and it ended up being sold for $300 without any pack in games just the switch

Tutorial videos are something that I've considered and may do in the future. They are a lot of work, and part of the issue is that portablizing changes a lot, with new boards and methods being made multiple times a year so the info could become quickly outdated.

Truthfully, there's no GameCube games on the Switch because it just doesn't have the power to emulate a GameCube properly while running on HorizonOS. Even on a more efficient OS such as various builds of Linux, emulation of Wii and GameCube games isn't perfect, even running on Dolphin, the best GC/Wii emulator period. Even Nintendo can only optimize emulation so much, especially for a console like the GameCube, so if we ever do get GameCube games on the Switch, it will be on a Switch Pro of some kind.

daffy duck it’s entirely possible to do cloud emulation of the GC and higher to send to the switch, also if they do first party titles they can re export and optimize for switch, not impossible with the hardware given to have a good experience. They did it to major Wii U titles, we can only hope they do to previous ones

@@jacqueshilo250 The problem is Nintendo hasn't brought game streaming to the west for obvious reasons. We can't stream video games well enough because our infrastructure is lacking. I highly doubt they kept any source code for GC games, but it might be possible to have the games in FS format and run that way, but then you have to make a game specific emulator settings configuration for every one and I doubt Nintendo is willing to do that on a machine like the Switch, which can't emulate the GC at full speed for the vast majority of games.

I was 4 when the GameCube came out and grew up with it. Even when I got a Wii in like 2008 when I was 11 I still played GameCube games nonstop. I miss them. I really wanna make a Wii portable someday. I'm starting slow with research for my first portable. I loved the video by the way. It looks awesome!

There was a slight mixup between me and my buttons person, which is why I used the 4 button dpad style. I do have a slight revision of this portable that changes the dpad to the more traditional cross style. I personally don’t mind the separated dpad all that much, except when I’m playing 2D Mario games, but it’s a common request so expect to see this change implemented in future projects!

Check out a software called PortablizeMii. It's intended for portable consoles, but it works just fine on home Wiis. I really like it because I can boot all of my games from a single menu more or less without having to navigate from the Wii menu.

You should try to make a 3DS that can be played on the TV like a dock for the 3DS

You can actually do that by homebrewing your 3DS and setting it up to stream to your computer. A dock of sorts would be quite difficult, and beyond my skill level.

the switch lite is cheaper because it's being mass produced and requires less labor as this is handmade and takes forever to make(also it takes more parts because the wii was never meant to be a portable)
