I baked gingersnaps for work today and my co-workers loved them. Kept them in the oven a few minutes longer to make them CRISP. They are delicious! Tomorrow I will bake gingerbread vampires for the neighbor boys. I ENJOY your recipes and helpful videos. I always keep unsalted butter on hand to make your cookies.

You could add a little of each black and red or cayenne pepper for a little added kick. It's delicious that way too...!

I used to have 3 Airedales: Ugly I grow up with him, Junior I got for my 25th birthday from my mother and Dale I purchased for my daughter's 9th birthday. Just found your channel and looking forward to making the cookies. ~M

I love this woman- she is such a delight! I make these a couple times a year and revisit this video every few times as a refresher. This was is a weird year because of Covid, so wanted a reminder of normalcy, and this video brought me back. Can't wait to bake these off tomorrow morning and drop them at my loved ones' doorsteps. Stephanie, I tried this recipe this morning and I must say, umm...umm good! I prepared the dough on yesterday, wrapped them in Saran Wrap and put it in the fridge. They came out excellent, so moist, buttery and just the right amount of crunch along the edges with a soft chewy center. My roommate took about 30 of them with her to work today and within minutes they were all devoured. They were loved by everyone. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I will definitely be making these again!

I made this recipe hours ago and theyre delicious! The only thing I modified from the original recipe was the amount of flour, I added 1/2 cup more to get the texture of the batter in the video. Thanks for sharing all this loving recipes!

You could use honey or even golden syrup, although the taste of the cookies will be a little different.

The extra tips and reasons as to why things are done a certain way that you give throughout your recipes are so very helpful, it's a great way to teach, it helps keep it in memory when we know the "why". Wonderful, i will make this asap i have left over cream cheese frosting from birthday cake to put on a few

I have my own recipe which I modified to my taste, but I picked up some useful tips from your video. TIP: For measuring out the dough, I use my 15ml (Tablespoon) measuring cup, and smooth it with the concave back surface of a butter knife. It gives me exactly 20g per cookie. Also, I like the softer center, so I place my dough balls quite close together, so I get thicker, square shape biscuits, that I break apart when they cool.

Omg!!Ibaked these yesterday. Omg...I topped some with the crystallized ginger and rolled some in raw sugar. Omg. I deviated a little and added 2 tablespoons of cardamom for additional flavor...omg, yum. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Stephanie ! Ginger Snaps and Iced Oatmeal cookies have been my favorites since childhood and I'm almost old enough now to get the senior citizens discount at McDonalds . I'm not much into candies , just like a few cookies and some fresh breads every now and then . Hope all is good with you and yours and I hope 2019 brings you great innovations for those of us that keep our ovens preheated for the next Joy Of Baking episode . Yesterday I made your other recipe of ginger cookies.. with the 2 egg whites....it was more than great...thanks a lot.. ..but very very sweet though...so I'll cut the sugar and use only the malasus in the dough

Hi Stephanie. Thanks a lot for yr detailed explanation. My question is what is the difference between ginger cookies and gingersnap cookies. You have the two recipes one is light in colour which is the ginger cookies and the other is a bit darker which is the gingersnap cookies. Is there any difference in taste or only in appearance.

In Australia our gingersnaps are super crisp by default, not soft at all. I might try baking them with a soft centre, sounds yummy. Thanks Stephanie :D

I like mine crunchy, SNAP with crunch. Do I bake them longer? I don't want a molassis cookie with ginger I would like it snappy. I love your channel and thank you so much. I have followed you for years and love your baking all that time.

When making a ball, I use a small scoop to pull out the batter then roll the ball. I personally don't think homemade cookies have to all be exact same size. Thanks for the recipe!

You want to have all the cookies about the same size, otherwise when you bake them, some will be done before others.

I say it at the beginning because you need to preheat your oven prior to starting.

Your recipe looks amazing and reminds me of Peet's coffee ginger cookie. If I wanted to add in chopped candied ginger, when could I add it? With the wet batter? Or after adding the flour? You mentioned adding it, but not at what point

You could toss the candied ginger with the flour and then add it to the wet batter.
