She debut in 1985 and she didn't take the world by storm, it took her album over a year to get to #1, and she had one song in the 100 songs of the 80's, GLOA at #95. She was Billboard #29 artist of the 80, #4 artist of the 90. She is raking in the awards here - but get real they are AMA's not Grammys. Madonna was the queen of pop like her or not.

She deserved EVERY SINGLE ONE of those awards. It is so unprofessional when other artists blatantly reveal their obvious envy and jealousy. THE BODYGUARD SOUNDTRACK sold a kabillion copies and was a crowning achievement for W/H. There was a time when she sat in the audience at an award show while the crowd booed her. She shook that off and kept coming back stronger and even better! It WAS the W/H show and I enjoyed EVERY second of it!

If Whitney doing drugs can do anything positive just look what happened to Whitney and her dauhgter. One is dead and one in a coma all from drugs. Whitney was a great lady who fell into the trap. They work the artist hard and say hey try this so you can work harder and make us money then try this so you can sleep and soon thats how they function. Hollywood will chew you up and spit you out.

She was very much a professional. It was like she had a unique speech for every award she won that night. Thanking different people. As if she prepared to win all those categories in advance. lol But it's really because she knew her craft that intimately, and had a deep connection with all those individuals in the industry. To hear this ethereal legend say that she could not have achieved her level of success, or stayed so strong, or given her best had she been alone, really makes you think about how alone she must have felt near the end of her life on this earth. She was always Whitney, she was always her talent, she was always her soul, she was always The Voice. But having been so disparaged by the media & so disrespected by the public, it all surely took its toll on her heart of gold. But just like from the beginning, even in her final moments she was truly never alone with her Lord & Heavenly Father holding her hand. Rest In Peace & Power Whitney Nippy Elizabeth Houston. Forever God’s gift to this world & now forever in his arms, still singing for him. We Love & Miss You! If only we could have given back some of all that you gave us.

@infinitydvst76054 жыл бұрын
Gloria Sumual, first of all, she didn’t say female. She said artist, when clearly there’s tons of artists who won the same amount of awards or even more in one night. Some female artists who have done so is Adele and Beyoncé. Whitney is great and very talented but if she really thinks Whitney Houston is the only one to win that many awards, she must not know about many other big names in the industry.
@glorias44624 жыл бұрын
@@infinitydvst7605 im not talking about her/his comments. I just correcting that comment. Whitney is the FIRST to ever done that. And i dont think Adele and Beyonce surpass Whitney. She won 8 AMAs and 11 Billboard award in one night. Guinness World Recold citied Whitney as the most awarded female of all time.
@infinitydvst76054 жыл бұрын
Gloria Sumual that’s great but you’re missing the point. That comment said that Whitney is the only ARTIST, not female artist. So I was replying to that comment. You replied to me and talked about how she’s the most awarded female, I can’t argue with that but that’s not what the comment was talking about, so I’m still right.
