I have a piece of rubber hose on my hood pins, that way it comes down on that and I have to push down a tad to get pins in, makes it very sturdy and doesn't rattle.

The holes in the axle are different and need to go on the right way. I work at Subaru dealer and first time I saw this I had the exact same issue. If it doesn’t line up one way rotate the axle 180 degrees and it will.

On Subaru axles if they're a little off for the roll pin to go through, rotate 180 degrees.

If your roof top light is lighting up your hood its mounted to far forward it should be mounted back... far enough the light is blocked by the roof and shines past it some people be mounting them way to far forward

You have a pitch stop mount on he transmission right? If not you definitely need it. Subarus need the so they dont push the trans down when under hard acceleration

The pins are actually slightly off center on the CV axles so you have to rotate it 180 degrees and it will line up. Should work as long as it’s similar to my 02 wrx

Wonder if neodymium magnets would work for the hood just to make it stay put (keep latches too of course). Just don't put too many or you will literally not be able to open it without denting it. I put like 10 hard drive magnets around a metal frame door at work once as a prank and that turned out to be a bad idea. We did eventually manage to get the door open.

Rebooting the axles if they werent already showing signs of failure is a good alternative to retain the superior OEM axles but still fix the issue

@Gingium Subaru axles are over extended when they are lifted. They are very sensitive. I went through 5 axles in 6 months on my lifted Subaru Outback. You should look into custom solutions for this. Would love to see you be able to fix what I couldn’t 😢

Subarus typically rip through aftermarket axles pretty fast, especially with the lift I wouldn’t expect to get more than 5-10k out of those, next time I would get used oem from eBay or a junkyard, or get some high quality custom ones made. unless you have a lifetime warranty and don’t mind changing them frequently
