Love Jolie Blon when it is played in a slow waltz tempo.

I am VERY old. I have heard this song all my life. My dad and his brother used to sing it back in the 40's. This version and performance are REALLY good. Excellent job of getting the sound just right on such a classic Cajun tune!

Good to see young people playing and singing Jole Blon. Ginny Mac is playing a huge keyboard accordion. I like the words sung in English and French. Doug Kershaw, Jimmy Newman and Jo-el Sonnier perform my favorite version.

This is fantastic cover. I happen to know this lil gal singing and these lovely musicians threw this together to entertain the nice folks attending the event. Some of these musicians just met for the first time. (To H2H with the ugly comments...the lil teenaged gal CAN SING! No she is not French, but this is her interpretation of a fantastic old tune.) The musicians enjoyed playing many tunes and we enjoyed watching and listening!!! I wish to see this group come together again, that was years ago, but it is great to be able to see this clip of a great memory!

One of our best jams at Columbia River Cowboy Gatherings in Kennewick, WA. Totally unrehearsed with a lot of my good friends there. How did I miss this one? We could have been in the Crow's Nest by that time.

david ayers - Absolutely right! This is an impromptu, unplanned, unrehearsed jam. It was not even on a stage, but in a large and mostly empty room. I'd say no more than 10 to 20 were watching. Half of the pickers never played with this group before. It was magical, and I'm so glad I recorded it.

The musicians are great. The words should be sung in Cajun French for the best effect, though. English doesn't cut it! "Ma jolie blonde, tu m'as quitte pour t'en aller avec un autre! Quel espoir et quel avenir moi je peut avoir?"
