This video contains some quick thoughts on Ginny Sack, the wife of Johnny Sack (Sacrimoni) on The Sopranos. Specifically, it's about my thoughts on her comment that she can't say her pain is worse than anybody else's. To me, essentially, it showed her ability to empathize with the human condition and awareness of herself and those around her. #thesopranos #sopranos #sopranosblueprint

The Johnny and Ginny argument was great! But yes Ginny is a very tragic figure. I assume that she was no longer welcome around the wives following Johnny's allocution. This last comparison to Janice is so telling...Janice was full of glee about the house while Ginny sat motionless, a broken woman. Maddone, those Sopranos were all born narcissists!

Also, in the beginning of the episode, Ginny is surrounded by the wives as friends, at the end we see her sitting all alone while Janice looks at the house, it’s very heartbreaking

I love your insight on Ginny. I always felt sorry for her but that shot of her when Janice is about to buy her house us just so sad and telling.

Jokes aside about Ginny, It's actually heartwarming that Johnny really loved her. He was one of the only mobsters on the show that stayed faithful to his wife, along with Bobby and probably both Carmines.

It absolutely is heartwarming and adds another layer to who he really is, which makes it all even sadder on some level when he gets sick.

I highly doubt that about Carmine Jr., what with being in the porn business and Johnny Sac's description of his bachelor party. But John and Bobby, yes. Carmine Sr., no way to know, but maybe. He was much older during the show, we don't know his younger days.
@nancyvillines4552

The only one I would disagree on is Carmine Sr. In the time's of his younger day's, I could see him cheating. But Little Carmine, and Bobby, faithful. Bobby was only faithful to Karen. If you watch closely after he married Janet and I believe it was after his first kill, he has a girl on his lap at a function. Although after being married to Janice, I could get why.

@@TheMisterGuyperhaps jr. did cheat but he actually seems to love his wife-- the way he speaks of her, and how her love was able to get him to realize the consequences of his ambitions, leading to him giving up the idea of being boss. It definitely wasn't the same kind of total emotional cheating and inability to connect with his wife like we see from Tony and most of the guys. The only ones, aside from Bobby, in Jersey that we even see or hear about with a half decent dynamic are Mikey+Jojo and Silvio+Gab, but clearly both men cheated a lot and we only saw a small picture of both marriages. When the hell did anybody besides Bobby actually act like they really loved their wife though? It's like Janice said, they're emotional cripples (ironic though, how she took the best husband and made probably the worst wife lmao).

@@cynicaltheastrocreep4504 Yeah, Carmine showed actual concern for his wife, and Bobby seemed to care about Karen for real. Totally different from Tony, who wasn't just lashing out in anger when he told Carmela she could live in a dumpster as far as he cared. I don't remember Mikey cheating, but I do remember his playful banter with his wife. Junior, too, though he wasn't actually married. And he was kind of old, who knows what he was like when he was younger. Sil, I don't think so. Gab cared for him, but he constantly and casually cheated on her. There were even a few scenes where Paulie is acting like a good boyfriend around his girlfriend's children. But definitely Carmine and Bobby were on a different level, and they were also the two least violent/murderous in the show.

The scenes where Janice and Ritchie buy the Sacrimoni home and Christopher buys the Ferrari demonstrate the integrity it takes to be part of the mob. Except the ever sensitive Ralphie, who was willing to pay a million dollars just to be with her for a few beautiful moments.

"When Ginny hauls ass, she has to make two trips." But seriously, if I married a woman who was in the mafia, then I'd know where her money comes from, and I really can't complain if my life is ruined by her criminality. Ginny knew who she was married to. Having said that, I enjoyed her character. Johnny Sack and Ginny were both fiercely loyal to each other, Johnny was faithful to his wife (unlike almost every other male character), and they had a relatively healthy relationship compared to everyone else in this show.

Her Pain Wasn't Worse Than Anybody's...two episodes later, all the husbands are dead or dying. Everyone in that room, at Ginny's house, are suffering from the NJ/NYC mob war. Just like that visit to the hospital, when Bryan Spatafore fell victim to a golfing injury. Jackie Jr, Christopher, Tony, Eugene, Ralphie, Gigi, and Vito...morto.

Right. They all suffered in varying degrees. I’m referring to this scene and the particular circumstances at that time prior to the real NJ/NYC war, and how it stuck out to me that those were the words she used, even though she was in the most dire position at the moment re: the rest of her life.

Ginny was sympathetic in so many ways. It's heartbreaking when John catches her with the candy. Was she minimizing her pain when she said that? John totally loved her. I might eat my brains out, too, if i lived in that life. She's a keeper! ❤

That was because she had trouble with her diet and controlling habits of overeating, not committing infidelity or betraying Johnny. In fact, he’s the one who didn’t even want her to bother with all of the diet stuff.
