When I got the album in 79 I thought that Waltzinblack was a mix of bright threat and ominous hilarity. Saw them live at Isle of Skye in 05 and this indeed was the opener. I hadn't seen them live before, they did not disappoint.

why aren't there any bands even similar to the stranglers ? ..its simple they can't be imitated.they may have a doors influence but they were and still are one of a kind...thnky for the past 30+ odd years of music it will never go unappreciated :)

The intro music is Waltzinblack and then the band starts playing The Raven. The Starnglers have ALWAYS had Waltzinblack as their intro music ever since HC.
