Story 1: had an uncle that lived like that OP there. His wife took away everything he enjoyed in life and forced him to basically wait upon her hand and foot. He always seemed like the most miserable person I know. It was so bad that she wouldn't even let him choose is own food. Like, she will throw a public tantrum if you dare to eat a state that isn't well done in her presence. There was even one incident where she threaten to divorce him because he wanted to try and eat some sushi at a Chinese buffet. My aunt was just crazy.

The first story: r/nicegirls, much? She's isolating him. It's a textbook narcissistic trait. She wants all of his attention on her, he gives up all of his hobbies and has nothing to do with anything besides her, yet she still gets to maintain all her hobbies and she's often going off on her own. If she isn't cheating, she's planning to. The gaslighting, deflection, flipping out over the most trivial or inane thing to spark an argument, it's all there. The fact that she forced this ultimatum should have been his red flag to finally get out. I can't believe he even went along with it in the first place. The second story: Absolutely NOT the butthole. If Lucy isn't going to teach her kid boundaries or accountability then OP is going to make her face the consequences of being a negligent, hands-off parent. The fact that she downplayed what her son did and refused to replace them or even apologize wholeheartedly for his actions, should tell you everything you need to know about the type of person she is. Some people are awful human beings but when they reproduce, they get worse. Rules still apply to a person when they have kids. Having kids does not make them special. It does not make them above the law. It does not mean that right and wrong no longer apply. They are still going to have to suffer consequences and reprisals for their crap behavior. OP demonstrated that by disinviting Lucy and her son to the party. If I could tell OP anything, it would be to stick to their guns because Lucy is going to keep trying to push those boundaries.
