During the fusion, trunks personality took over mostly which is why his arrogance is close to vegetas. Basically if goku was still on earth, gotenks would've listen because he respected goku more than piccolo

Everybody says this but imo it’s both Goten and Trunks in this moment, Saiyans in general after a power up get like that. Don’t forget SSJ2 Gohan playing with cell, Or Goku slapping Frieza Repeatedly when he went SSJ on namek. They all get disrespectful it’s not just Vegeta passing it on to Trunks lol, cause even for his cockiness trunks is calm and calculated but this is him and goten crashing out together

@@Pluto24 That is a fair point and I guess I only said what I did because I remember from the very first battle with Goku and Vegeta in the Saiyan Saga because Vegeta was an Elite he was far more cocky back then, then he is now. But yes, I've also noticed from the fusion techniques with and without the potara ear rings.. That level of over confidence kicks in.

@Pluto24 yeah, true Dat Lol. It seems to be their running gag with all saiyans. The only peaceful ones are Goku and Gohan. When they're not in battle or super saiyan transformed. But once the Saiyan Saga happened and everything else shifted. You started seeing more of Goku's inner saiyan heritage coming out every time he went SSJ and beyond. Which eventually passed on to Gohan, and the only good-hearted hybrid is Pan.

The personality he definitely has Vegeta Gotenks, which was very cocky and full of himself, but Vegeta, in a sense, is more in control. Gotenks is just out of control and full of arrogance. You can't tell him anything he does remind of early Vegeta. When he first turned into a Super Saiyan and the Android Arc. You couldn't tell him a damn thing you guys saw when Trunks was trying to tell him not to confront the Androids it went in one ear out the other. And we all know what happened.
