Powerful episode. My first time seeing it since I didn’t watch the show. I must say the whole friend-stealing your-man thing was done to me but in high school and the way they wrote Joan’s story is true to life. If I had known then what I know now, I would have happily continued my life without the friend group that betrayed me. Those friends will never care as much as you do how hurt you were. Good episode.

I remember back then , when black TV sitcoms in the late 90s /00s would have an aids episode and they were not afraid to speak about on it . I'm glad I gain knowledge about the disease and many people especially black people would die from it . Younger me didn't really the understand content , but looking at back on it . I'm glad they promote awareness to this deadly disease. I'm my country svg they are alot of young people have it and it's sad 😔.

The Parkers also did an episode on HIV called She's Positive, where T's new girlfriend played by Chilli of TLC, was HIV Positive. Ok, I'm gonna say it, you mean to tell this dude Magic Johnson had HIV in 1991-1992 and somehow he lived passed all the people within the early 2000s who were still passing away from HIV!? Very interesting if you ask me.
@Aced84 Жыл бұрын
He could probably afford really good medicine back then. Which meant the virus was affecting his body as much because he's undetectable. Now there are so many advances in the medicine you can get a shot every three months and remain undetectable. Being undetectable means you'll never spread it. .. get tested

Tons of improvement has been made in terms of treatment and medication. Ppl with HIV are living a lot longer. HIV is something that you have to take care of. It's something you have to manage. Magic Johnson probably manages his HIV well hence the reason he has managed to stay alive for as long as he has. When you get HIV, you're gonna be hooked on medication for the rest of your life. Your meds is what is keeping you alive.

@chaosspy67236 ай бұрын
@SouthSideLadyWright what does that have to do with Toni progressing, opening up and caring about people? todd knew she was materialistic and selfish and so he kept giving her gifts to impress her. He even gave her a doll of herself. he knew full well what he was getting into but bailed when she was finally getting better. He didn't even believe when she told him she was pregnant? why would she tell a lie about something that would change her looks? he was the more emotionally stable parent but no one asks if Toni had post partum depression. Todd left Toni once she finally started healing and began being vulnerable. he's awful.

@@chaosspy6723Toni progressing? 😂😂😂 When? Toni never changed. In fact she got worse when her and Joan reconciled. Toni reconciled with Joan because Joan was paying for Toni things while Toni secretly banking half a million dollars.
