the Tangled Up era was a really interesting time for Girls Aloud in terms of vocal distribution. very often on this album there would be back-to-back Kimberley and Nadine lines (Sexy! No No No, Girl Overboard, and here with this song) where you can basically say historically, one got way more lines than the other. And here in this example, you can see Nadine struggling in these lower register parts and Kimberley absolutely shining. I am so glad that Brian and Xenomania really started to craft the group with songs that let all of them shine in their own styles. and even in live performances, Nadine's adlibs attempt to get her out of those low registers but Kimberley kills it beautifully. It really started here in Tangled Up and continued in Out of Control, but it was so nice seeing the vocal distribution spread from just Nadine all the time

Yeah those verses are definitely too low for Nadine’s range. They should have either changed the key or give the lines to someone else, maybe even Kimberly doing all the verses? As you say, thankfully things were divided up more equally on Out of Control.

Kimberly's voice is really plain and lacks power. She almost talks her lines. Nadine was struggling at the beginning of the song but she is an infinitely better singer than Kimberly - better tone, vibrato, power, agility - so it's no wonder she got so many more solos than her.

Nicola Roberts was always the best of the group, both vocally and looks wise in my opinion. It’s just a shame she was under utilised as when they were famous it was the time of orange fake tans and dark make up, and that obviously doesn’t suit her complexion. If you check out her Lucky Day single she looks beyond amazing and sounds soo good!

docd1o1 yes, they had NO chemistry and their harmonies were awful. That's probably because they never managed to become real friends like Little Mix for example. AND both Sarah and Nadine couldnt dance at all. They are all very talented individually tho.

docd1o1 I always wondered how Nadine, Kimba and Cheryl were always so tan lol. Nadine and Sarah were able to sing and Kimberley had a nice tone in her voice. Cheryl was always shite but got vocals bc of her looks. Didn't really care for Nicola's tone either even though she could belt sometimes. Their voices just didn't really mix and there were definitely two camps in the band. Kimba/Nicola/Cheryl and Nadine/Sarah. But their songwriting team was good they still have one of the best and original pop songs.

The song was made in a lower range and they clearly didn't rehearse enough, tipically Kimberly and Nicola keep the harmonies in place but both cand find the right tune. The have a voice but clearly no vocal training. In the last tour they sang this in a lower range and sounds better.
