I love this movie for so many reason, and one of them is that you can’t hate Hector, he’s such a good guy, he just loved her so much, so that makes the movie so much deeper, it’s kinda sad

Actually, I was just commenting that one of my fave scenes is the credits scene where you see Hec getting on the plane and that woman who's clearly nervous b/c she's attracted to him, says, "Cause I can read!" and then dies of embarrassment! Not only does she deliver the funniest line in the film, but the audience gets to see that Hec gets HIS happy ending too!! So there's nothing to be sad about. It all worked out for the best. He gets to finally do the travel writing he's been wanting to do, and he meets someone on the plane! I *LOVE* when he breaks the 4th wall and looks into the camera and laughs.

Well, these reviewers are just a few out of countless millions of people, many of whom would have very different reactions than the 2 hosts. I do think it's great that you are interested in the perspectives of people different from you. I like to watch reaction vids of my fave female TV couples, like Alice & Robin from Once Upon a Time, Sanvers from Supergirl, and Wayhaught from Wynonna Earp. I am especially interested in the reactions of hetero people to these couples' storylines and scenes. I also watched Afterbuzz TV just for that reason. It's great to see 4 hetero women gush over a lesbian couple! It's also great to see men who actually appreciate the relationships and storylines and don't just treat the couples as objects for male voyeurism. TV and acceptance of LGBT people has changed so much so fast! I'm glad I've lived to see it!

I think Luce was Rachel’s first REAL love. If you listen how Rachel talks about Hector, like he’s her “best friend”, meaning she thought that *that* was love. And since she’s probably have never been with a woman before, her idea of love was like having a “best friend” until she met Luce.

That credits scene w/ Hec & that woman on the airplane is actually one of my faves. First of all, Hec was a good guy & the audience would feel better about Rachel & Luce if Hec got his happy ending too. This is a mainstream film, not a film just for lesbians. That woman saying, "Cause I can read!" and then looking like she was going to die of embarrassment at saying something stupid is the funniest line in the film. My second-most fave funny line also comes from a bit player when Luce's mom asks Rachel, "And you love my daughter?" Rachel nods and this woman waiting at the counter just says, "Golly!" LOL She delivers that so well. But I really LOVE when movies break the 4th wall and an actor looks at the camera. Hec gets to finally do the travel writing he's always wanted to do AND he meets someone on the plane. So EVERYONE gets a happy ending!

You should watch Embrasse-moi ! The director, Océanerosemarie(who also play the main caracter), is a lesbian, this is a comedy and it's the first movie that I've watched where the fact that the main caracter is gay is not a problem (the movie is about relashionships not her sexual orientation)

This series is hilarious. I'm dying for you guys to do commentary on ANY L Word episode. Preferably the earlier seasons. I'm 24 now and that show helped me a great deal when I was coming out in my freshman year of high school, so I'm not discrediting it, but revisiting it is so comical. Even with the dated fashion/music and lesbian archetype characters - the hard hitting messages still ring true!

The Handmaiden is based on a book Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. The book is quite different as its set in Victorian England but has the same basic plot although it expands on it more. It's definitely worth a read if you liked the film.

How did you learn her name and how many kids they have? Ol Parker didn't say her name in the Director's Statement (which I LOVED, btw, and I also loved his commentary throughout the film). They'd been married 10 years at the time he told that story of why he made the film and I've shared the story with lots of people. Glad to know they're still together after 20 years!
