It's honestly incredible how grooming them back-to-back shows how each has their own personality. Some of them are dramatic, some are cuddly, some just sit there. Absolutely adorable!

I got the runt of the German Shepard liter, she was the last one that the carrier had and she is an amazing dog, im glad I got her and not anyone else cus they missed out. She is naturally quiet, protective, and kind yet was the runt.

Agreed! I brought my litter of eight to the vet for their first shots. He said to take them out one at a time. I opened the carrier door and all eight came charging out. The vet laughed so hard! He said it was okay. That those German Shepherd pups running and playing in the exam room was why he became a vet! He loved it! Me, too!

sounds like you had an amazing vet! My boys vet was also the same. I had a husky/german shepherd mix, and my boy got the whininess AND screeching singing songs of their people trait from both breeds. Everytime we'd go to the vet, Buddy would raise absolute hell, bursting ear drums. All of the nurses and our vet would just laugh and say that everytime they saw Buddy, he made their day, and that he made their jobs so much more interesting.

Probably made his day! Kitten and puppy appointments are a vet's favourite appointments! I knew someone who's husband had a herd of sheep. One of the lambs had an eye infection so she brought the lamb into the vets with her cat (who had an appointment for his yearly shot and overall checkup). All the vets and nurses loved having a cuddle with the lamb, as they hadn't done farm veterinary medicine since university!

They are so cute! I love GSDs. We had a long coated GSD named Casey, she was smart, loyal, well trained, gorgeous - AND was aware I was about to have a seizure one day - I had no idea what she was trying to tell me, jumping up with her forepaws on my bed while I was getting dressed, she was so distressed. I thought she badly needed a walk, so off we went. Halfway through I started feeling wonky and strange (it’s really hard to describe) she started circling around me as everything in sight started looking like a painting by a cubist on acid. Next thing I remembered I was in the ER unable to remember my own name (it wasn’t my 1st seizure, but they’re still so scary.) A neighbor saw what was happening and called the ambulance. The next day when my dad was walking her the neighbor who called 911 told him Casey wouldn’t leave my side to let the EMTs help me until a police officer or EMT who knew the breed coaxed her away. After my speaking to the breeder/trainer about this it turned out Casey’s mother was a trained seizure sniffing dog. She passed at 10yrs old in 2013, I still miss her so much.🥺🐾🐕🐾❤️ - If you got this far, thanks for reading. I have so many happy memories of all our dogs, but this one’s kinda special and here seemed the right place to share this.🙂

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Not to the same extent, at all, but I have been punched in the nose by a cat who was declawed. That was, about, 30 years ago when I was volunteering at an Animal Hospital. (I don't think Declawing is done anymore.)

I totally understand. I have a 4 year old male GSD, and personally I think they are one of the best breeds. But, on another note, I was terrified of Dobermans when I was a kid. We lived nextdoor to a family that had 2 that were guard dogs, and when they got loose, everyone in the neighborhood would be told to stay inside. Of course I lived next to them on a cul-de-sac, so where did they always run to? My backyard down to the pond. For years I was so afraid of the breed.

Hands down my favorite breed. My uncle and grandparents had a retired K9 "Nathan". His well-mannered nature and how he would interact with me and my cousins is a testament to the GSD breed and what they mean to their families. These pups in the video are absolutely precious, and my God those ears make me love them even more if it is possible.🐕

My avatar photo was a puppy my niece got (then I adopted back when my niece was late teen). My cunning brother had me look after the puppy for the first few weeks _till she was properly toilet trained¹_ before my niece got her. ¹ not that hard, I just dug, with my foot, two small holes in the yard (at night) and I pee'd in one while positioning her over the other hole. She got the idea. FYI a useful trick is to have a older dog show them as well, next door had a one year old similar breed who mummied her and taught her _"dog"._ [BTW Back then I didn't know what the term "dogging" meant - my face when it was explained…😳] My next (current) dog was a year old, and still had toilet issues when I got him, so I pee'd on a tree with him watching the first night, and he got the idea then and there. Any neighbours with night vision lenses probably have compromising photos of me.

I love GSDs. My first litter was 8 pups, too! I had 2 adult Shepherds and a mixed breed. I would come home, open the door and say "hi, puppies." All 11 would come running. I loved it. My vet loved it, too. Great dogs! Had Shepherds for over 35 years. Wish I could still have them! I'm a disabled senior now. I couldn't give one the life it deserves. Give them love, and they'll return it 100 fold!

I love how the relationship of humans and dogs is such that even if we can't recognize visually which puppies are which right away, we can use things like personality and temperament to clue us in who's who. :)

I grew up with the most wonderful grandfather that raised German Shepherds for police work. I had the pleasure of playing with the pups as a young girl. All the kisses and nibbles. All great memories.

THE EARS!!!! TOO CUTE!!!! For all of my animals, I've always loved their ears. I had a Shep mix named Lady. My favorite passtime was crouching behind her while she was on "Watch" and puttimg my chin on top of her head and looking out from between her ears. The little wisps of frather like fur that wicked acrossed my cheeks... That was our favorite passtime. She was a fantastic pup.

I'm disabled in a wheelchair and I recently had to put my Rottweiler of 12 years down. I need an emotional support animal and we found one of these German Shepherds which reminds me of a Rottweiler right now and since day we brought him home he hasn't left my side. He's about 16 weeks and he's been attached to me and very protective already

I've had two GSD's among an assortment of other breeds during my life. I got one of my GSD's as a 5 week old puppy, which was a bit too soon. She had some socialization issues throughout her life, but other than that, she was probably the smartest, best trained and loyal dog that I've ever had. I miss her daily.

Getting a puppy too soon tends to lead to behavioral and social problems because they were taken away before really learning how to be a dog from siblings and mom making the rest of their life harder..

Seeing the first German shepherd puppy reminded me of when I first got my German shepherd, Sam at around 11 weeks. He was super fluffy like the first one as a puppy and he still is fairly fluffy almost 8 years later

I was an 8 to late teenage poodle groomer with my mom. I learned every dog has a different personality and temperament. Big standards were easy going/ toys were wild cats. We also did all sorts of poodle cuts. Wish we knew about the "happy hoody" back then. Brings back 60 yr. old memories.

I wish I could have another one to love, but they are not easy and at my age, I don't have the physical strength to walk them, or have the space that they deserve, in my small apartment. Love them to pieces, though. GSDs and Huskies are my favorites. I must love the drama! LOL

They are SO beautiful! I love how patient you are with all the dogs that come into your salon. I had a miniature Dachshund who gave me nine wonderful years of laughter, bossiness, sloppy kisses, and joy. Sadly, she was savagely abused the first few months of her life (I rescued her when she was six days shy of her first birthday, literally the day I lay eyes on her, I decided to keep her), so the arthritis that had set in after her injuries had more than caught up with her, and in 2019, at barely nine years old, I had to help her across the Rainbow Bridge because she was so miserable, she was ready to go. I wasn't ready, but I'd promised her from the door that when the time came (hopefully not for MANY years) when she was ready, I would be with her right up to the end. I'm fortunate that I was able to keep that promise, even though I didn't want to say good-bye. Her health was too-far-gone, and I didn't want her to suffer. Around Christmastime that same year, I started feeling like I wanted to adopt another rescue, mentioned it to a friend of mine, and he said he'd keep an eye out for a dog that would be a good match for me. He knew I didn't want an old dog, but sometimes life has a way of saying, "But, you'd be great for this little one!" As I type this, I am happy to tell you that I have a 14-year-old hound mix (we're pretty sure he's Beagle x Basset) who thinks he's two, and lays it on THIIIIIIIIIIICK when it's bathtime. He knows when he's about to get a bath, too, because Mommy takes his jinglies (collar) off. He'll run around the apartment demanding to know why I have removed his collar (the horror), and I have to go get him from his (not at all clever) hiding spot, pick him up and CARRY him to the bathroom to set him into the tub for a bath. He won't cry or howl or anything, but he will give this look that clearly says, "What have I ever done to you, woman?! I smell FINE. What is this, 'You stink' business?! Nah, that's your upper lip. I'm FINE. Now, let me out of this evil water prison and let me run amok!" He was rescued quite literally off the side of the road in a ditch two years ago at the start of the lockdown here. A friend found him when he was out looking for ice cream, we were on the phone, and he told me about Philip (the name we gave him when he came here) being in a ditch and looking confused. I told my friend, "Yeah, mate, he's looking for a ride down here to me so I can spoil him for the rest of his life!" He got Philip into the truck with him and drove him around the town where they were and asked people if they recognized him (the dog). No one knew who he belonged to, or anything, so I was asked, "I know that with the lockdown, the shelters are closed right now. Would you be willing to take him in at least for the weekend, and we'll try to brainstorm and figure out something more permanent for him on Monday?" I balked. I told my friend, "Uh... you DO understand once you cross the threshold into my complex, the dog is now MINE, right?" He said, "Well, he's an older dog... I know you'd said you wanted a younger dog..." I scoffed and told him, "I don't care WHAT I said before about that. This little one needs a HOME. He needs LOVE. Bring. Him. To. Me. I will give him all the love and spoil him and love him and give him the best life I possibly can for as long as I'm able to have him this side of the Bridge." He's been mine ever since. I regret NOTHING.

@@TheGreatnPowerfulNush Thank you so much... Emily (Emi-Duck as I called her) was an amazing dog. Bossy, but truly a wonderful little girl that is fiercely missed. The hound mix I have now, Philip, is happily snoring next to me, fourteen years old, and the silliest, sweetest boy I've ever had the great honour of sharing life with. I tell him all the time that he is the bestest, goodest boy in the whole entire universe, ever, ever, ever (which of course he eats it up lol). He is terrified of my cat (I'm not sure why... he's been like this since day one, and she's never given him a reason to be afraid of her), but he tolerates her. He knows I won't let her do anything to him.
