Her being unfixed though lead her to so many other problems, including mammary tumors and a massive hernia. She survived the surgery though, and is doing really well! Our lovely boy became HUGE and required so much grooming, combing, climbing , but he was truly the sweetest, gentlest, and most loving cat I have experienced. The little meow is exactly like Koji's and a very similar temperament. You did a great job with this lovely, loving cat Venessa! What a wonderful gift to the owner. Anytime id be extra stressed shed see that and do anything in her pawer to get me to pay attention to her and not what's stressing me out. Shed start tapping me. Meowing etc. I miss her everyday. But I feel the cat supply system brought her back. A stay mama showed up a month after her passing. She got pregnant with a intact male that belongs to one of my neighbors. Our hay grower had live trapped him and was otherwise going to rehome him to a farm without dogs. Clearly, with his medium to long hair and fluffy rather than slick hair texture, he was not designed to live out of doors. He keeps to himself and our other cats, so even catching him for brushing is a challenge. He is almost like a Roomba in that he picks up every piece of debris in a room.

Your voice is so soothing to the animals, and you stay calm. I am sure that helps the animals a lot. Thanks for caring so much.
@adde95069 ай бұрын
Digestion takes a huge amount of blood flow; his heart is why he isn't hungry. Cat's also get almost all of their hydration from their food, so with that heart condition he needs to be eating only wet or watered food. Normally at least some dry food is good to help keep their teeth clean (cats and dogs) but I think Koji and his owners can handle regular toothbrushing.

Great advice ❤

It's an old wives tale that dry food keeps their teeth clean. It's purely genetics.
@ruralmetalhead9 ай бұрын
@@pitchforkSue Not true, but not wrong either. Dry food can actually scrape the plaque off certain teeth, but is has a lower effect on others. It is, however, a myth that wet food causes tooth decay. Either way, most vets recommend a mix of wet and dry food, for variation in the cat's diet if nothing else.

It is sadly a very bad sign when they are that calm (especially cats). This just means that he lacks the energy. „Feisty“ means healthy most of the time.

Thank you, I've not had a cat in many years but I remember my ginger well - there is no way he would have tolerated anyone grooming him. I had him many decades ago when it was normal for cats to be allowed outdoors and when neutering was not common. He pretty much did his own thing. He was affectionate and purred a lot at dinner time, otherwise he was not 'touchy/feely" at all. 😂😂

I am always amazed at these cats that are so well behaved. My cat would be crazy wild and torn your shop up. It takes two people just to trim his claws. Otherwise he is the sweetest most loving cat. You are truly a cat whisperer.

I'd love to see the grooming of a crazy long haired cat. Cause I've one who gets sometimes dirty on his butt and it's so nerve-challenging to clean/shave him for 2 non-professionnal folks like us 😅

I had a longhaired cat who needed three people to clip his front claws. One to hold him, one to distract him, and one to do the clipping.

thickened nails can happen in humans due to problems with circulation, like when a human has heart problems. Due to the mechanism behind that I see it as highly likely that this is true for cats as well.
@steggopotamus9 ай бұрын
Now that you mention it that could affect appetite (not enough blood flow to the stomach) and skin for the same reasons.

One thing about shaving a long hair cat - they are suprised the next time they scratch themselves and get bare unprotected skin. I've had a cat stop and basically go "Oww" when they scratched themself. I told her see that's what it feels like when you scratch a human, but I'm not sure that translated into cat.....

@@EmilySmirleGURPS Happens with humans too. I'm cycling through the year and it's again -30C here so I'm letting my hair grow from the end of summer/autumn till spring is starting and I shave everything off. Multiple times I have even drawn blood with my fingernails after I have shaved my head and I have gone to scratch my head like I could when I still had hair. Yes, my fingernails are quite thick and they get sharp and are specially sharp after I cut them. I have scratched myself bad many times around my body, hundreds of times in my life.
