Nice, I'll have to put this on my list. It's so wonderful when you explore smaller towns and pueblos and discover lovely gems like this. Thanks for sharing.

My husband and I took the train there in June from Barcelona. Loved it.
@traveltomoney2 ай бұрын
Very cool! How long was the train ride?
@kjaroundtheworld2 ай бұрын
@@traveltomoney Not long, about 1 hour from Barcelona Sants station.

I agree with you, I was pleasantly surprised by Girona back in May this year! I loved the walled area! I stayed 2 nights but could have stayed longer!
@traveltomoney2 ай бұрын
The walled area was definitely my favorite! I really look forward to going back again! 🙂

Great video 👍 for my American friends it’s pronounced Hee-Row-nah (Girona)
@traveltomoney2 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, I believe there are two pronunciations (Spanish and Catilian), but I don't know which is more widely used. I used to try to use the local pronunciations in my videos, but I find it very difficult to speak one word mid-sentence with an accent. It feels easy if I'm speaking a whole sentence in Spanish, but a tongue-twister if I'm speaking in English. 😅
@mannyvidsnyc2 ай бұрын
@@traveltomoney 😂 I completely understand. It’s totally weird to pronounce one word in Spanish when speaking English. We do the same in reverse in Spain, because I was raised in NYC English is my first language, so when my family does it and I catch it, it sends me laughing. Like Spider Man, they say Spee-Der-men 😂
@tinycuisine65442 ай бұрын
It's more like "Gee Ro Nah" in Catalan, the language spoken in Girona.
@mannyvidsnyc2 ай бұрын
@@tinycuisine6544 I stand corrected. I guess we now know both pronunciations. 😂
@tinycuisine65442 ай бұрын
@@mannyvidsnyc You were not wrong! You used the Spanish pronunciation, and I explained the Catalan pronunciation, which is the local original one.

It is nice to know they have an airport and easy access by train. I am planning to visit to get to know more of Girona. Which city in Spain is the least expensive for expats to live in?

Hi Nicole, I’m looking at car rental from Alicante airport in April 2025. I see Wheego as an affordable option, but haven’t heard of them. Any feedback you can share, on Wheego or other providers? Thanks. And Girona looks amazing! Wish my trip was long enough to visit there.
@traveltomoney2 ай бұрын
Hi there! I've never used Wheego myself. I wish I had more info for you.🙂

Love your videos. I am looking at moving to Spain but having a hard time contacting the Canadian consulate over there or the Spanish consulate in Canada. Any suggestions. I am looking to permanently move to Alicante area.
@traveltomoney2 ай бұрын
Hi! Moving to Alicante sounds exciting! I wish I knew more about working with the consulate, but since I'm not a resident in Spain, I don't know much about the process. I hope you find the info you need soon!

Can I get a property for 20k euros, all-in, in Girona, and what would the long term rent that I can collect from such a property be?
@traveltomoney2 ай бұрын
I think it would be hard to find anything in a city (small towns will have more low price options) in that price range that doesn't come with a long road of renovations or legal issues (like dealing with squatters).
@MuzzaHukka2 ай бұрын
@@traveltomoney Oufff, so what's the rock bottom price for getting a rental?
