i fixed the stiff trigger problem with my girsan 10mm!! it was the sear spring, the middle "tongue" was to far bent forward towards the gun giving it a 7.5lb trigger pull. adjusted it down to 4.5LB on my trigger gauge! i love it!

I got to shoot it at the range Wed night. The rear sight was way off from the factory, so my aim was way off, and I didn't have a screwdriver with me to adjust it. It is otherwise is a great shooter. It has less recoil than the Glock 20. The trigger seems ok. I'm not an expert.

It’s a little heavy, but even a heavy 1911 trigger is better than most other types. I assume it will lighten up over time. I have a competition 1911 with a hair trigger, and to tell you the truth, it’s too light.

From what I have seen its the grip safety that makes the trigger seem heavy. If you don't really push the grip safety in all the way it hangs up a bit. Hopefully can be fixed by bending the leaf spring a little.

Appreciate your review on this. I've seen some good prices on these, and I've been wanting a long slide 10mm 1911 for hog hunting. I'm a huge trigger snob, though. Some reviews greatly applaud this trigger, but some make it seem to not be great. They had a few on display at a local shop, but they have trigger locks and won't let you test the trigger. Annoying. Can't decide if I wanna save the money on one of these, or just spend the money and get something like a Dan Wesson Kodiak. I'd end up having the slide milled for an optic, not huge on the idea of spending 2 and a half racks on a Dan Wesson and immediately have someone start grinding away on the slide lol. Need more optics ready long slide 10mms! Girsan has the Witness 2311 coming out soon, interested to see how that plays out.
@ironridgeoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yeah, my pleasure. It seems like the triggers are all over the place on these with the weights. The Kodiak would be awesome, but the price is definitely up there. I think if I were to get another I'd sacrifice the long slide and get a Ruger SR1911 or DW in just a 5in.

@ironridgeoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Man, that's a good question. I could have sworn I saw it stated "cerakote" on their website, but when I just looked, it never specifically says what the finish is. Not enough to be detrimental in the short run. You can use a snap cap if you're really worried about it, but I know guys in bullseye competition who dry fire their 1911s hundreds of times a day without any ill effects.
