Giselle, I love your vlogs and although I rarely comment on videos, I wanted to come back to this video and say “THANK YOU” for your honest opinion on this dehydrator! I gave away my husband’s dehydrator over ten years ago while in the process of moving out of state and he wasn’t happy I had done that. I promised him that I would eventually replace it with a better unit. Because of this video, I finally placed an order a few days ago. It should be arriving this Tuesday just in time for his birthday! Thank you, again, and for using your platform to #sharegoodness in this crazy world! ❤️

I love my dehydrator. I haven’t tried raspberries because I thought they would just be seedy but yours looked really good so I will have to try them next year. I love the dried tomatoes and sweet peppers. I dehydrated 30 pounds of onions and they fit into a gallon jar! Some things I will always can but dehydrating is definitely utilized here on our farmstead. Best, TeresaSue

I love my dehydrator, one year I dehydrated EVERYTHING! I even saved the skins from canning tomatoes and dried them and whizzed them up to make tomato powder. It's amazing! You can add it to make stews more savory and even make tomato paste with it. This year I don't have much on my list except maybe some raspberry leaves and rosehips (so long as I don't turn them into jelly) I love rosehip jelly!! Oh also I made dehydrated potato slices once to create my own instant scalloped potatoes. It is a lot of work because you must blanch the slices first, but well worth it. I have dried potatoes forever now. Happy to see you, loved the vid! Much love from NW Ont!

Pro Tip: If you melt chocolate and cover the raspberries in a thick layer of chocolate they are even better. Also works with cherries or strawberries. We have a factory in Germany that produces these.

You can get a small slicer called a Mandoline that is perfect for the slices you want for the Zuchini, potatoes, tomatoes, etc. and it is easy to just rinse off. You can change the thickness of the slices. Once you start using one, you will be amazed at how easy it is. For the dried raspberries, you could crush them and use the powder as a decoration and flavoring.

So glad you are back! I love your videos!! The display ‘flickering’ is due to the frame rate of the camera being close to the rate the display on the dehydrator is coming on and off. The camera is probably at around 30 or 60 frames per second. You can also see a similar issue with a fan. It can appear to be spinning really slowly on camera because it is spinning at almost the same rate as the camera frame rate.

Giselle, Your video popped up today as I was on KZbin. I went through and watched several of them. What a delight they are. I grew up in Southern Alberta where there are several Hutterite Colonies. My parents were very good friends with several people from a couple of them, so I grew up going to the colonies all the time. I have a very dear friend in the Raley Coloney near Cardston. When I saw your last name, Waldner, I had to write and ask if you are any relation to her. Her name is Kathy Waldner. I believe her husband is Martin. My mother was a very good friend of her mother's. They are both gone, but we know they are together with God. I believe you mentioned you were in Manitoba so I thought that I would ask if by chance you know her. Thank you for your videos. I love the food you share with us. Cannning season is coming on. I have not seen all your vidios, but if you have not done one on the way you do canning, please share.
@gisellewaldner94062 ай бұрын
thank you, I'm glad you enjoy them. I honestly don't know if I am related or not Waldner is a very common name and there are a lot of us, so I don't know I apologize about that. canning videos, yes but they are mixed into weekly vlogs and also a little older, maybe last year and there is a specific one on canning corn.
