Do people think we just arbitrarily believe a book? It's the relationship with God that changes everything! It's reason I seek Him more and more every day. Because living with Him is incredible and I'm being transformed into someone like Jesus more and more, without even trying hard. Just by the grace and love of God by relationship. And His presence is so sweet! There is nothing I've every experienced like relationship and intimacy with God! And I'm free from worry and guilt and condemnation.... That is why I'm a christian! Because God is amazing! He loves us so so much :) ahh... :D

Some of the gifts that we enjoy from God? Life: life was given and maintained by God. As long as you continue in this world, you are using that gift, whether you believe in God or not. Light: God created natural light to be used in this world. That light will no longer exist after death. Pleasure: love, pursuit of happiness, good food, , sight, sound, friendship/kinship, all the things you derive pleasure from. In other words, EVERYTHING! After death, if you are saved, you will continue enjoying those things, just more so. Jesus said He gives abundant life. I am a learner. I love to learn things. I imagine just what I might could do if time and resources had no limits. Love to travel? How may you enjoy it if time, space and expenses had no boundary? Just think of whatever it is you would enjoy if there were no restraints. I, like Cliffe, do not presuppose what hell will be like. I can't imagine it in my mind. The body will perish at death, so whatever hell is, it won't be experienced in the flesh. The spirit is dead if you are not saved, I suppose it will remain that way after death. That leaves only the soul. Whatever the soul is, it seems it will remain forever. Just what it will experience after death? It will not experience the same gifts from God that it does now. Other than that is only speculation. I look forward to heaven so I can continue enjoying life. I am not "waiting" to die, I enjoy life now. My life will just be greatly enhanced by the perfection of heaven. I thank God for life and knowing my life won't be interrupted by death. This fleshly body will perish but me spirit will live forever.

@@redbeheaded hey bud. I read your comment and honestly the God you are describing is not the God I worship at all. It's what you would call a "straw man argument" i don't know if you're doing it on purpose or what. But i think that when most believers read comments like these, we easily see through them. But it would take all day to respond to every one in detail. The word of God says that His children have eyes that see and ears that hear. But you don't. I know, i know, as a skeptic you hate that and don't except it. But obviously we are both looking at the same texts and coming to polar opposite interpretations. I'm not brainwashed. I think that I'm pretty logical in my thinking. When something in scripture doesn't make any sense to me at all, I meditate on it, ask God for understanding and hold to my faith that there is a explanation behind it, I just haven't received it yet. But it always comes. Whereas if something in scripture doesn't make sense to you, you quickly dismiss it along with the rest of the book. and as for heaven being some kind of reward for following Christ, I don't follow him for any reward. I follow him because he saved my life so now I am free to live a life of serving him by loving others. and Heaven is just the icing on top check this out. When a Christ follower turns to atheism, his atheist friends are like "okay. That's cool. Do whatever you want. I'm glad you broke that yoke." but when an atheist becomes a Christian, his fellow brothers and sisters REJOICE in their hearts! this is a joy that the atheist knows nothing about. I remember the nights I would spend crying to myself in fear of the hell that awaited me. I was threatened by my church and my faith, and you don't get to say that's not true christianity just because it is misaligned with your own faith. So it's not a strawman. At about 16 mins, Cliffe talks about Matthew 28 and the resurrection of Christ, if you go back 1 chapter (27:52-53) Matthew is talking about the moment Christ died on the cross. He describes the opening of graves in Jerusalem and dead Saints rising out of their tombs and walking among the living which he described as "appearing unto many". Surely this is an embellishment, it's not mentioned by *any* other gospel writer. If dead zombies came walking down the main street this would be headline news. It's not surprising that pastors and clergy never mention this paragraph, I think it stretches even Christian credibility to the limit.

We have discussed this. You keep pointing me towards Johnathon Wells book "Icons of Evolution" when you know that he accepts the planet we live on is roughly 4 and a half billion years old, more than enough time for life to gradually evolve. If you are happy with the bible, and it gives you comfort, stick with it, I'm not telling you to abandon your faith. Cliffe's youtube site is called "Ask Cliffe", where people are free to discuss issues of Christianity, hopefully in a friendly casual manner just as Cliffe does when he invites people to challenge him on campus. Are you saying that dead saints rising from their graves and appearing unto many isn't incredulous?

bonnie43uk "the level of your ignorance concerning evolution is staggering, I've never claimed that cows give birth to dogs, or dolphins give birth to people, or even that life came from a rock." No, the level of your ignorance is staggering. For you keep saying that you believe in Evolution, and that is exactly what Evolution teaches. It is called "Speciation" in case you don't know, which I am sure you don't. Because you are nothing but ignorant and then you come on here trying to prove that you know something by trying to make fun of beliefs that are more believable than your dumb beliefs. "Cliffe's youtube site is called "Ask Cliffe", where people are free to discuss issues of Christianity, hopefully in a friendly casual manner" The difference is that you are not here to learn anything. You are here to troll the sites and get attention. I have answered tons of your questions, and when I answer them, you don't have anything to say and stay quiet. But now I know what you are about, and I am going to make it my mission to expose you, and your ignorance and show everyone on here how sad you truly are. Has to do, with ignorant Atheists that use the same old tired arguments, that we debunk over and over again. And not using logic or reason when it is presented to them. And being dogmatic about their Religion even tho it has been proven false. "Do you really find evolution less plausible than creationism?" Yup. "A big boat load of animals, super evolving in a couple thousand years to 8 Million species with individual numbers ranging in the trillions? That's more believable? Stop kidding yourself." You mean that believing that in the beginning there was nothing, and then nothing exploded, creating everything. Then water raining on rocks, creating organisms, and those organisms evolving, so that we all came from Bananas and eventually Reptiles gave birth to birds, Dogs to Camels, and Monkeys to Humans. LOL! Yup.. at least in my world view, I have a mechanism to account for the Miraculous happening. In your world view of only matter and energy you don't. So therefore, it is IMPOSSIBLE in your world view for Monkeys to give birth to Humans. In my world view, God can do anything he wants. LOL!! NOW go away little boy, before I spank you some more. Paul actually said in Romans that they need to be careful or God will deny you. Romans 11:20-22 King James Version 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Romans 6:11-18 King James Version 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

All books are easily misinterpreted, and therefore you should not interpret the Holy Bible at all: Instead, you should accept it as it is, under the guidance of a qualified scriptural teacher and the worldwide community of saintly persons.

Cliffe is wrong about Hell... I am a dedicated Christian. But Hell is simply eternal death - not eternal suffering/torment.

+nathan robson You should read Rev 20:10 and following
@MrNathanasher9 жыл бұрын
I have. It doesnt mention anything about suffering forever. It talks about destruction. thats why the same chapter calls it the second "death"

Rev 20:10 there they shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. This is the lake of fire same thing as hell. sorry to say

+Mike Kelly The wicked are said to be tormented day and night for ever and ever, yet twice in the same chapter, the wicked are said to experience the second death. John could not have been so inconsistent as to mix this issue up in the very same chapter. The Bible consistently teaches that the wicked will "die"; be "destroyed." Only the righteous are given eternal life - not the wicked. And 1st Tim 6:16 says that only God is immortal - at least until He grants immortality to believer at the end of time. Brother.. the term 'forever' is also used in the Bible to denote a specified period of time, not 'throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity' as we would read it in the English. So my final comment is this: Please study the topic using the Bible as a 'whole.' And please do not throw your entire theological argument into one stray text - to the exclusion of everything else the Word has to say on the matter. love

You are in error. Hell is Eternal not annihilation. Luke 16 Is about the rich man and Lazarus. Eternal torment. Christ said its a place of weeping, Jude 1:13 deepest darkness forever. You have been taught wrong. Are you a Jehovah Witnesses? I know they teach that.

Evangelist Netasyahu Miller It's amazing that when people get educated and learn to reason and think for themselves they stop believeing in gods.

Evangelist Netasyahu Miller If you knew your history you'd know that Hitler was a christian. In fact the Nazi's has "God is with us " on their belt buckles. Here's a quote from Hitler "My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before in the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice.... And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people.... When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom to-day this poor people is plundered and exploited." -Adolf Hitler, in his speech in Munich on 12 April 1922 Hitler remained a Catholic all his life, and the Catholic Church never excommunicated him.

SuperSlartibartfast Hitler was a Socialist, and not a Christian point to me one verse in the bible that justifies what hitler did
@SuperSlartibartfast9 жыл бұрын
Evangelist Netasyahu Miller I believe that my quote shows Hitler was a Christian and if you want Biblical justification for genocide try these for starters. 1 Samuel 15:2-3, Joshua 10:40, Joshua 6:21, Deuteronomy 20:16-17, Deuteronomy 13:15, Deuteronomy 7:16, Deuteronomy 7:2, Deuteronomy 3:6, Deuteronomy 2:34

Cliffe I like you but please be careful about showing respect to m. Theresa. Anyone that is teaching people they should follow the catholic faith is not bringing them the true message of Christ. Whether her motives were noble or not is really beside the point and we are now in the age where the protest denominations are giving validation to the catholic church and their teachings. Our forefathers died trying to show the true nature of the harlot. Please don't help them. God Bless you and your ministry.
