Well that's just insanely subjective. I have a gaming chair, a 144Hz g-sync monitor and a somewhat expensive gaming mouse (steelseries rival 600). I'd argue I'm not playing any better than when I had an IKEA chair, literally the cheapest 24" monitor I could get at that time and a 15 bucks "gaming mouse". Yet I don't regret any of those purchases because subjectively it just feels better. I sit comfortably, the smooth motion in games is a treat I am not able to ever give away again and my rgb puking mouse just looks nice on the desk. So was it "worth it"? It's like buying an expensive car: You really don't ever need a Porsche or Mustang or Model S but driving one still feels pretty damn nice.

Loved my logitech G5 that worked perfectly for "over a decade" and I also love its replacement the G502 I bought it in early 2016. I only replaced the G5 because I wanted something newer. As for the G502 since purchase, there have been zero operational issues with thousands of hours well into the double digits for use. The G502 still works perfectly like the day I bought it. People say this is a heavy mouse and I honestly see no difference coming from the older version. In fact I will say the weight provides more traction to assist with stopping unlike a light mouse that will over extend slightly. (I use a black razor diamond coated hard mouse pad to aid in several tracking areas) I love everything about the G502 and the wireless version is neat. But it is not double the price neat and will only reduce performance if the bluetooth plug is far away. Which in these tests the bluetooth connection is always very close to the mouse. So either your tower is directly next to your mouse within inches or it's on a wire anyway. I will also say a wired mouse has no noticeable drag long as you give the cord some slack near the mouse. My only complaint over the design is the cloth braiding around the cord. Logitech just can't make a quality braid for their cables as several of their products have the same issues. Eventually there will be a hole and the wire will push out. You can tape the hope or just cut the braid otherwise the wire will kink there and eventually expose wire ruining it. This is a problem for any braided cords. Plus it collects a ton of dust. Hope you enjoyed my 2 cents on this quality product and I would definitely buy another wired G502 if this one ever breaks.

The Logitech G502 in any form, is hands down, the best high performance mouse Ive ever used. Its got all the benefits of a high performance gaming mouse, but the durability of a workhorse. I use different grips depending on whether im gaming, surfing or working, and its good for all positions. Its got enough buttons to helpful, but not so many that you end up doing random stuff by accident. The best recommendation I can give is that I just bought my second one, and the old one is still working just fine after 6 years.

Better than final mouse and only $49.99. You could compare it to final mouse but final mouse is only better by being 7g lighter, other than that the model O does everything else better such as Max Dpi, comforbility, variation of colors and rgb, and htz. Plus final mouse products are $240+ because ninja signed his name on it and they are milking it by being a low stock company.

There's another reason to be wary of the G502: *the Omron switches fail prematurely.* The "mechanical life" specification for the switches is totally bogus because it is based on no-load testing which does not mimic real life. The Omron switches for the primary buttons in my G903 began to fail after 7 months. A single click would fire a double-click instead. And the primary switch would suddenly release in the middle of a drag. Logitech replaced my mouse with another new G903 and the same thing began to happen after only 6 months. I'm very careful with the mouse, I have a gentle touch and am never heavy-handed with the mouse. Doing research on the internet revealed that other G903 _and_ PRO users are having the same trouble. My concern with the G502 is that it will also have the problem. Logitech offered to replace my G903 again, but my patience was gone. I discovered that Logitech uses the Chinese version of the Omron switches. I purchased the Japanese version from Digi-Key and replaced the switches, myself. This was a fairly detailed procedure. The disassembly of the mouse requires many steps. The two most difficult tasks were prying out the soft Li-Po battery without damaging it and removing the old switches. You must be extremely careful not to overheat or damage the tiny circuit boards when you de-solder the old switches -- and you must have a very good solder sucker. When installing the new switches, you must be extremely careful not to overheat them when you solder them -- the soldering iron cannot be too hot, you must be quick (less than 10 seconds) and each switch must be allowed to cool after each pin is soldered (before soldering the next pin). Since replacing the switches with Japanese-made Omrons, the mouse has worked extremely well. The Japanese switches are made to a higher standard (better internal design, tighter tolerances, less dust can get into the switches, and the operating force is more consistent). But replacing the switches isn't a job for a novice -- you need serious mechanical and soldering skills. I also have a PowerPlay wireless charging mouse pad. If it weren't for the switch problem, this would be the nicest mouse I've ever used (I used a Sensei MLB for several years before switching to the G903).

Couldn't have summarized the issue better myself. Logitech should be ashamed for trying to save a few cents on a cheaper switch on what is supposed to be a premium mouse!

I recently got mine as an upgrade to my Proteus Core so I can finally stop traveling with the cable. I just hope the middle click wouldn't die on me as quickly as it did for my old G502, their choice of using a small smd tact switch as opposed to a mechanical switch like every other button on the mouse definitely shortens this mouse's lifespan. I managed to solder on a new switch but all I could find were so heavy to press that I'd press the side scroll buttons too, good luck finding one that's as light to press on as the oem switch. As for the micro usb port, I can definitely live with carrying an extra cable around and I already trimmed down an old micro usb cable to fit the mouse so I never have to bring (and risk losing) the original cable. And as of the price, I got it brand new for ~$100, and I personally love this mouse from form factor to button options/placements so it's an investment that I'm happy to make, plus the inclusion of powerplay support definitely adds some futureproofing to this, assuming Logitech doesn't kill it by the time I can afford it. 'Cause unless/until it breaks, I don't plan on getting anything other mouse anytime soon. P.S. make the scroll wheel programmable

I can't guarentee it won't be a problem but Logitec does have a notoriously generous 3 year warranty where they'll just send you a replacement straight away without needing to send the broken product back 😂 At the end of the day just go for whatever feels best, and if you already have a Razer keyboard for example it'd be silly to get a Logitec mouse and have to install 2 programs to customise them

same, a light mouse feels cheap to me

I had weights strategically placed in my G5 towards the front, and I initially placed every given weight in my G502 Spectrum as well. For some reason, no matter how deep I pressed in the weights, the cover wouldn't close properly and would scrape along my mouse pad, so I ditched the weights altogether (after months of just ditching the cover instead). I have a Lightspeed on its way and I look forward to seeing what a slight weight decrease is going to be like (aided by a lack of drag from the cord as well) as I think I'm starting to really shift towards a lighter feel. My weightless G502 already feels really heavy to me now (although a weightless G5 feels like paper by comparison, as if it's going to fly through my finger tips just from pulling a 180 in-game. I can't go that light).

@@internetperson5445 You love the Arctis until you sell them for Beyerdynamic DT770s, or any other actual pair of real headphones, which was probably one of the best decisions I made.

I was so surprised when my friend wanted the lightest mouse possible. I always played on my bed since I didn't have a table, and I used the G203 Prodigy (loved it). Once I got my own desk, I couldn't use the Prodigy anymore, it was way too light. So I looked around and found the G502 Wireless and it is the best mouse I have ever used. Weight is perfect, and the shape is amazing. Super comfortable and just all round a great mouse. I turn off the RGB and I usually get a few weeks of use out of it before having to charge it. Can't recommend it enough.
