Inflicting pain then give pleasure afterwards....Pain: Being not available sometimes, cancellin dates, speaking about other men(no cheating), etc. Pleasure: invitation to dinner, invitation to vacations, etc... Thanks Alex this approach is base on psychology... But I wonder if this will work on a balanced person who has had a healthy childhood! I think it works more on traumatized guys!

I used to do this unconsciously all the time in my twenties.. just coming from a place of distrust and resentment and bitterness. LOL. I didn't think it through but the root belief that men suck just guided me the rest of the way. But then again, I attracted guys who suck.. so.. there is that. Maybe the men that go for this also hold the belief that they as men -- suck. At some point men have to just decide they are worthy of the real deal, trusting, sweet, considerate, consistent and sure, non-doubting true love. Its a journey I guess.. but I am so glad I don't act this way anymore. My insides are waaaaaay happier.

I think the supreme example of how to get a man to adore you by inflicting pain must be Estella's treatment of Pip in Dickens's "Great Expectations." That's where I learned it, anyhow! Estella is my role model, though not when she marries the wrong man!
@FreePalestine123-b1x2 жыл бұрын
You're forgetting the social status disparity between the two individuals in Great Expectations. Pip has Estella on a pedestal, he feels unworthy of her love to a large extent. If he was of equal status and felt worthy of her time and attention I wonder whether her tactics would have had the same effect. She's also dysfunctional in that she's learned through her aunt that true love can't be trusted / doesn't exist. She creates an environment for herself whereby she doesn't recognise love when it arrives, instead pushes it away by hurting them before they hurt her. None of that is a healthy or secure way of relating.

Give me pain and I'll send you to kick rocks. I love myself far too much to put up with shit. I'll tell her to kick rocks like I have with even the closest people in my life. Hell no , a reward is a lot more motivated than pain. The avoidance of unnecessary pain specially is a great motivation but not the pain life is too short to be dwelling in pain.
@Untamed_ayla2 жыл бұрын
I don't understand these guys telling all these women to give these men pain...love love love. Love without expectation and love yourself is all you need. There is no need to play games with men in this world. If they want you, they will naturally flow with you in their own time, if you don't want to wait for them, then move on. People are not all the same.
@ladyofspa2 жыл бұрын
You might be healthier, use of this is for more hard headed males. Pain is consquence of disrespect neglect or pain inflicted.....not just because. I agree with you rewards are more effective, and if pain was part of my relationships I would be OUT. The purpose of relationship is to be loving consistently otherwise what's the point, but I do understand Male psyche, and they require a challenge, and its give when required.
