Well as you guys know I pulled this 57 Chevy BelAir out of a farmers field a few weeks ago. We got it running and driving but far from road worthy. Rust repair is the part of this hobby that I HATE the most, especially rusty floors. So naturally I attacked the rotted floors first while I was still excited about this Hot Rod. I sourced out a set of replacement floor pans and body braces to make the job a little easier.
These Tri-5 Chev's all seem to rust in the exact same way. There really is no easy way to do the repair but I think I have a good system going. Through trial and error I've decided that cutting out the floor and repairing the braces from the top side is much easier. It does require more floor repair, but I prefer working on top of the floors instead of lying on my back.
After a few days of welding in the heat, the floors look good as new! I'm a big believer in making this car safe so it can be driven/enjoyed anywhere! Now with the boring ugly job out of the way we can move onto something way more exciting!
This car is being given away at 57 000 subscribers so make sure to tell a friend! We're making LOTS of progress but still have a ways to go.
Make sure to click subscribe and turn on the bell while your here.

Looks like the 57 giveaway is going great. Keep up the good work and the updated videos on your progress. An again, what a great thing you are doing by giving it away to someone who may not be able to afford an old school hot rod. The only thing is that when you get this one done there will many more to follow, if you wish to keep on going. You've started a great thing. An you can't stop now. Take it as far as you can go with it. Don't make the 57 be the only one. 57,000 subscribers is just a starting point. Imagine having, 57,000,000,000. Then all the cars become free to you. Then you really become a channel all around the world. The question is just how big do you wanna be with it. Great job your doing on the 57. Keep on trucking with it. An as always safe an happy hunting/building the old hot rods. There out there just waiting to be found and put on the road again.😁👍👍

If I was to get the 57 I would leave it a 4 door and make it a family hot rod. Maybe a mini tub and a tunnel ram. Leave the patina for a while and just enjoy the ride. Keep turning thise wrenches my freind.

Floor looks great. you're getting much nicer weather than we are out West but I'm sure you'd appreciate some of the rain to cool down your garage.
