Having such a large tank bag, does it obstruct your view? Either dashboard or what's directly in front of you? Also does anybody know if this can fit a 2021 Suzuki SV650-N ?

How tall are you? Do you find the spike cramped for leg room compared to the multistrada?

Thank you for your question! I'm 5'11"-ish with a 34" inseam to the floor/32" jeans (so slightly longer torso). With OEM ergonomics the bike felt slightly more compact than the Multistrada, and definitely had more of a upright/cruiser seating position with my feet in traditional mid-control position (about 12" in front of my torso, and about a 90 degree knee bend). On the Multistrada my feet were directly under your torso, and lower down, still maintaining about 90 degree knee angle. In OEM setup the V7 was very comfortable around town, but "sail-in-the-wind" on the highway, and not sporty enough for fast & twisty roads. I switched bars & pegs to a sporty position, much more compact & aggressive, but, surprisingly, more comfortable and confidence inspiring overall. Review of the pegs & bars is coming soon. I hope this helps!

@@TexMexStrada I am the same height and inseam as you. I keep going back and forth between a new Bonneville and the V7. The Bonneville seems to fit my legs better but I like the price and features of the V7.

Keith Thompson Which model Bonnie (T100, T120, ...)? I was in the same boat, maybe I can share my perspectives to help.

@@TexMexStrada both of the liquid-cooled t100 and 120 Bonneville seem to have a higher seat and foot pegs about an inch back from the V7. When starting out on them my feet just seem to fall to the right position whereas on the V7 I have to pick my feet up and put them forward a little bit. The older air cooled t100 seemed to have higher footpegs than the new ones.

A few general comments before I dive in: #1: I'd recommend the new Bonnie over the earlier Bonnie any day. It is a more refined motorcycle with better performance all around and, probably, better reliability and durability. #2: If I had to do it all over again, I'd get a V7III Racer (the ones with the Ohlins rear shocks) and start my modifications from there #3: I've ended up modifying the ergonomics on every one of my motorcycles except for the first one (I didn't know any better at the time). So don't let the initial impression be there determining factor. You will most likely change things around fairly quickly (after 1000 miles or so you will have figured out what needs to change) #4: These "modern classic" bikes are really intended to be a canvas for your modifications, so don't look at the starting price. Decide which bike speaks to you more and which looks like the more suited canvas for your goals. You will invest thousands of dollars into tweaking the bike, even if you start off having no plans to do so. I learned that from experience. Now to your specific comment: I think you are spot on, I had the same impression when I looked at the V7III vs the T100 LC. Ended up going with the V7 as my wife had just gotten her MC license, was planning to ride the bike as well, and needed all the seat height help & bike weight/COG help she could get (she is 5'0", 105#). The V7 had the lower seat, lower total weight, and the lower COG, making it easier for her to pick up, so it was a winner. She even picked the V7 over the Street Twin. Other things that spoke for the V7 that may be relevant to you: - the V7 has a much larger tank, allowing for more carefree longer distance riding (reduced range anxiety on backroads and long, empty stretches through Texas) - the V7 has shaft drive, which reduces daily maintenance time on long trips (=more time to enjoy, explore, rest & less supplies to carry), and is still lighter than the T100 - V7 (in Stone/Milano trim) has tubeless tires, so much less of a hassle to fix on a trip (plus less supplies to carry) The Bonnie also had some plus points: - Longer maintenance intervals - Better suspension - Liquid cooling provides for more consistent engine performance (fuel mileage, etc.). At the cost of weight & complexity though - Better dealer coverage Therefore the big question is: what are you planning to use the bike for? Will you be riding 1up or 2up? What riding experience are you looking for? The last question is very important. Both the V7 and the T100 provide a "vintage" riding experience, which is a nice way to say their performance (engine, braking, acceleration, stability, comfort) is far inferior to modern motorcycles (my V7 would fold if I even thought about doing the kind of riding I was able to do on the multistrada). I learned that that has its charm, an appeal even ('The man & his machine against the road'), but, if the vintage look is your thing and you want more modern performance, I'd recommend chatting up your neighborhood BMW dealer about a leftover (previous model year) RnineT, or even better marching over the Team Green and picking up a Z900RS/Cafe. In the end you will spend about the same amount of money on those as you will spend on the V7/T100 + modifications (especially the Z900RS, it is a great bike out-of-the-box). But... you won't have the satisfaction of making your bike uniquely yours. I hope this helps! If the weather plays along I will shoot more clips this weekend and/or next, so I hope those will be informative for you as well.
