Good honest review, and timely as well. I have been looking at the quick-release version of these and you very quickly illustrated a major flaw in the mounting system. You could see the nylon spacers flexing at the quick-release screw when you put weight on the rack (aside from bending the mounting plate itself as well)!

Similiar experience with these on F800GS. I twisted and damaged the rack way to much after drop while I was not moving !!

If you have the Outback Trekker Cases, these must be the CAM Side Carriers instead of PL3105, no? Trekker Outback are only compatible with Givi's CAM Side Carriers. I'm wondering if you found a way to mount the Trekker Outbacks to the PLR3105 Carriers, and that is why you're having a weight issue? Could you elaborate? The correct carriers for Outback Trekkers should be PL3105 CAM.

the outback trekker works with either PL3105 or PLR3105

Yes they are the CAM version which refers to the latching mechanism on the pannier

Not the pannier rack you need for trekker outback. It is the CAM that you need. No wonder you have problems with the other!

It is the cam, theres two models one is a quick release and one is not. This is the quick release with cam mount.

Buy SW Motech. These knock off are not designed with strength and usage in mind. DTF. Designed to fail.
