Okay apart from the fact that it was giving like child learning website (it was the colours- u couldnt avoid that lol) it was cute and MADE SENSE - I just finished my portfolio for a theatre company and while it was a bit less genereric- it was cool cuz it had meaning

DESIGN VIDEOS ARE BACK I remember seeing your redesign the book covers, you literally *drew* new illustrations for it and I was so damn impressed. I kept popping up to your videos to check your videos or if that kind of content was back up haha. But that was when I was in school... and now I'm in college trying to do actual professional design work and ITS NOT EASY. Makes me respect you much more. I love the ebay redesign!! I'd honestly love a QnA with you, if you're free to share private info. Where do you live, what you do, what you've been up to, are you south asian?? what are your fav books and how have your tastes changed over the years!

0:05 yesterday I found out that if you pay to have the battery of an Apple Watch replaced, they just get a new watch. They advertise new battery but then they just. Get a new one. Because having a new watch every 3 years is cheaper than making batteries work. I love ewaste

I remember a conversation I had with a teacher in college 10 years ago over an asignment of making the identity of a fake company: Teacher: "you insist on the first "O" being an eye, uh?" Me: "I just feel the logo needs at least a little semantic reinforcement, otherwise is just a word" Teacher: "The logo is just an small part of the brand's identity. Don't worry if its just a word, the other parts of the brand will comunicate its personality, the colors, the motion graphics, the icons, etc. The logo doesn't need to do all the heavy lifting because the brand is a lot more broader than just a name on a packaging" As much as I don't like the bland hyperminimalism of modern logos, I see the logic on the trend, branding has so many ways to express itself nowadays that logos aren't as important anymore

It makes me wonder whether they fired all the designers and just have a building full of computers and they're kind of crossing their fingers that the 50 monkeys on a typewriter would be true for computers, and visual design. Unfortunately they are just making fashion based on what they know. and chances are it's stuff that you would find in a warehouse.😊

i hateeee the trend of logos all just becoming the name brand in some sans serif font. thats not a logo!! thats just your name!! it lacks creativity. i want an icon that tells me what the brand is without needing words yk
