But to get it to him, I would have to drive over 1,500 miles, halfway across the country. Things didn't exactly go as planned.

pRO MiKe that’s actually how Tesla gets their trade ins. ...At least in our state. They legally cannot sell cars directly to consumers here, so I suppose they also cannot offer trade ins, since they’re not a dealership. Your future Tesla may be in your town, but you buy it in CA via online/offline documents. So how would they accept a trade in? They tell you to take the car to CarMax and regardless of how freaking long it takes them to finalize and give you your car (3 months for us, I believe), they will honor that value. I don’t think they compensate CarMax at all for this service.

Oh yeah, and fuel pumps go out by burning bearings by not keeping gas in the tank. They usually burn out all at once. Sometimes you can get lucky and peck on the bottom of the gas tank with a hammer to get the armature in the pump rolling, but more often then not, when it goes, it's gone.

The Car Wizard definitely quoted a 2019 price for that work lol. I was expecting at least $3500. But that's without the body work restoration, or interior. Then I remembered this video said it was 3 years old, before the rush of cars into the repair shops as new cars became unaffordable. New cars today are overpriced and no better than models from 10 or more years ago. This 1999 van runs great with some new parts. My 2010 & 2013 Pontiac & Mazda both still run great with regular oil, coolant, and trans changes.
