These chats are harder then most podcasts. I've leant so much already n I'm 36. Need more mentors like gabriel. When shit starts to get to me I just put one of these chats on and after weirdly I feel a bit better clearly talking amongst a group of men who are going thru what most men do is very satisfying u don't feel alone

i think it’s so crazy because other cultures give their kids names within their cultures but we do, even the conversation about culture, i feel like allot of us are losing our culture even as a carribbean, our grandparents and parents carry the tradition. i definitely would want my kids to be bilingual and proud of where they come from. loved this episode ❤

Condolences Chiso, irony of this video is, is that I was about to message you the earlier asking for coping with a loss, as I’ve lost two family members in the last week. More light, love and blessings to you, and your family affected. I respect and look up to how you handle things.

You should still bro. Crazy I lost another aunt day after filming this video. I just take things as it’s part of life now and keep on moving along.

I was born in England but spent a few years in Ghana. Im so glad i can speak multiple languages quite fluently, including proper pidgin (not the modern awful stuff). I still sould british but i'm very much a pan Africanist. I prefer to be called by my Ghanaian name. I call my children by their Ghanaian names. It's my job tp equip them to overcome the prejudices against their names. I also know of the agenda against black peoole, that may be too much for some black people to comprehend. Therefore strictly had children with and dated African women only. We have to keep our traditions alive. I will happily date and marry a Nigerian or any other African, but culture and succession planning is vitally important. We cant be out here dating like Oyinbo....our cultures are being eroded. For the record, this does not make me anti white, far from it. Im just pan Africanist / Pro black. If we dont love and respect ourselves and culture, why should Toby and Freya? ✌🏿❤️💯

Every black person in the Carribean is African by linage full stop so they are Jamaican African. we need to start recognising this as its simply perpetuates the division that was set by our oppressors, the Carribean was/is just a plantation settlement the same as the Americas and Europe the only difference is Africans are the Majority and the islands (in particlar Jamaica & Haiti) managed to maintain and live real true and strong African and spiritual culture.

29:05 They might not be lying because London is only 13% black. If you account for black women only, that's single digits. Then you have to account for black women that are single, of a suitable age, and that he finds attractive. Outside of London there are EVEN LESS black women.
@michael4356711 ай бұрын
43:41 this is disappointing ngl. Didn't Gabriel say he would get upset when he'd not get a property (probably due to racism)? But now he's also discriminating? We can't complain about racism, then practice racism. Preferential treatment is maybe understandable but not even clicking on a mans application is extreme. And the person might actually be black, because many Caribbeans have English first names & surnames
@MayorSom11 ай бұрын
How is he practicing "practicing racism"? He's made it abundantly clear that he hires based on merit. He's on some occasion(s), however, take his chance(s) on those whom he felt could do with the opportunity. You are making a lot of assumption and I would suggest that you refrain from making libellous statements.
@michael4356711 ай бұрын
@@MayorSom Learn the definition of racism & discrimination. You clearly don't know because if you did, you wouldn't be asking me when I provided the timestamp beforehand. Gabriel himself said he practices "positive discrimination". Yet here you are in a state of confusion

Lets be real who wants a mobo when they can win a grammy. A grammy carries more value than a mobo. Its not about race
@michael4356711 ай бұрын
It is. Launch 2 award shows for hip hop. One is majority black crowd, no dress code, free to attend, typical "black" food, a lot of dancing & fun. Other one is majority white, has a dress code, 20k to attend, tiny portions of food, no dancing, not very fun. Both awards have the same value The top black artists will attend the majority white show because they see it as more prestigious & they see themselves as too good for the black show. Jay Z performed at a Louis Vuitton show in front of people that probably only know 2 of his songs. But he'd probably reject a BET awards performance in front of his die hard fans even if he was offered more money
