That was great to watch AND listen to which you can rarely say for motocycle reviews on KZbin!! Well done and thanks to Antique Motorcycles for lending the bike. Great way to show how far bikes have come and how great our country is,,,,, but you really need to give vegemite another go :-) I rode my Suzuki RG500 along the Great Ocean Road in 1988. Higher speed limits, less traffic and zero police presence. They were good times

The 2017 is technically advanced but it has 1% of the 1985's sheer presence and THAT is what Suzuki needs in the 2017 model.

Love this video, back in 1986 I thought the original GSXR750 was too focused for me, now years later I have had 6 GSXRs all sizes. I like when the boys get out of the garage and take us on an Adventure. I have many other manufacturers sport bikes and love them all but the early GSXRs wore shocking in their day. I am glad you took time to give credit to the construction of the road builders. I have given credit even years ago to the road builders of The Gap, Cherohala Skyway, Bear Tooth Highway..

I'd take the original any day. I remember when I saw my first one in '84 like it was yesterday. I can only remember one other bike like that and it was an RC30 in the IOM in '88. I can also remember a magazine article on a GSXR static engine test where the exhausts were glowing cherry red. 🍒 Great moments in my lifelong love of motorcycles. I have many ( first look at an RD 500, push starting a racing RG 500, getting passed by a pristine XT 500, being smoked at the lights by a Katana 1100, seeing a CR 500 doing a double jump, being petrified of driving a GSXR 1100 etc.etc.) but these two have a special place.

The ‘85 gsx-r is sooo much better looking than today’s edge styling I guess you’d call it. Just looks like the bodies are chopped up. Love the solid full fairings of the bikes of my generation. My first bike was a 74 Suzuki GT 380 in ‘79 and my third was a new Suzuki GS 1100E in ‘83 for $3495. What a time.

I remember liking the 18" rims compared to the 16"F and 18"R of the other contemporary sportbikes of the day. The added stability added confidence to my developing riding skills. I also loved sitting " in " the bike. Great job guys !

I bought a new one in 1986 for $3600 out the door and it was rated at 115 hp but had Vance & Hines put an exhaust on it and tune it. It put out 130+ hp on their dyno. And the bike weighed under 400 pounds. It was like riding a super fast dirt bike in the street because every gear would bring the front wheel to the sky! Most fun you can have riding a motorcycle. Never felt any heat blowing on me that was bad. But I’ve only been riding for the past 52 years so what do I know. Had the 1100 too scary!

Oh horseshit! You're not a true Aussie if you feed the drop-bears either. And you should not let anybody see the stirrups when you climb on the 'Roo, because we're supposed to always ride them bare-back... An if thay carn tork strine then why'd ya waist yer toim onem? Chuck another shrimp on the Barbie, Mate. You know she hates it when we do that...

How can you not like Vegemite? Are you sure you're not confusing it with that filthy foreign Marmite or the sub-standard and sickly sweet imitation, Promite?

aussies call them PRAWNS - however SHRIMPS are what we call them in foreign advertisements for some strange bizarre reason. I was born in oz 48 years ago that qualifies my comment

I live in Melbourne, Phillip Island was my home race track in the mid to late 90’s and I’ve done countless of trips along the Great Ocean Road. BUT, it no where near the best roads to really exploit a bikes potential and have loads of fun on in Victoria. I loved the video guys, however, to correct you, the Great Ocean Road is West of Melbourne, not East as you mentioned. Keep up the cool videos guys. Love them and I LOVE VEGIMITE! It’s an acquired taste and full of vitamin B!
