In the beginning he really didn't but time passed and he trained so now he does have Hashira Power (lower tier Hashira, but non the less a Hashira), also he was the only one available to succeed the previous Water Hashira because nobody else had Water Breath before Tanjiro appeared so.. But he is right that Tanjiro should train with other Hashira (Gyomei, Sanemi and Muichiro) because only them 3 can 1v1 Upper Moons

Giyu compared to the rest of the Hashira does naturally feel out of place, he's more weaker than most of them, more down-low in the hierarchy and doesn't share the same qualities at-least on a first glance, he's deeply insecure and really does feel that Imposter Syndrome, if it was true and Giyu did die and Sabito became a Hashira instead would Sabito have gone further than Giyu? Probably as I believe IMO Sabito had more potential than Giyu but whats done is done, the dead exist in the past and for Upper-Moons 3,2,1 and then Muzan the Hashira need everyone they can get their hands on to help.

@@bushmaster195 giyu is strong af akaza recognised him so it says it all !! not to mention giyu is more like defence built hashira , his fights are amazing , wait until u see giyu vs sanemi to k how much strong giyu is !! defiently the 3rd strongest hashira!! as someone who can level sanemi

@@CloudyCrow I'm not sure if they just didn't mention it in the anime or what. I've not read the manga, but it's not said in the anime. Maybe it was only implied (as of this episode maybe? idk).

Man, Demon Slayer should just be called "Survivor's Guilt: The Series," none of these Hashira have dealt with their trauma in a remotely healthy way! I appreciate Tanjiro bailing on talk no jutsu immediately after he thought it failed, and falling back to an eating contest. The flow chart of this child's conflict resolution approach must be something to behold.

Are these two demon slayers is giyu and Sabito? and the Main character you mentioned is Tanjiro? Also, is the demon you call the massive demon a hand demon? The demon that Sabito was killed by Hand demon said it himself I wanted to ask because I couldn't understand So the hand demon was just eating the demon slayers that came before it without any injuries Tanjiro beat him without any help Everyone was already trying to save their own lives So there was no one to help

In my oppinion.. Sabito is really that strong if he alive, he would be a water hashira in short time after the final selection. But, thats not mean giyuu not deserve it. Giyuu is not that good before/in final selection. But, he is training so much and leveling up his swordsman and water breathing so he deserve to be water hashira..

One of the two swordsmen entrusted with the giyu by Sabito is Murata-san. He is a trooper who survived at Mt. Natagumo and was afraid of Shinobu.

@@AayuRk28 if giyu nearly broke him like he said I can’t wait for him for the rest who are missing who are going to broke them of how sad the rest of them are . Don’t get me wrong giyu backstory is said but in my opinion compared to Iguro , akaza , Sanemi and gyomei they are more sadder

This is the point in the story where I’m the most dreading and not ready to see animated. 17:20 you are not gonna like her plans to the defeat “that demon” when it comes, I assure you.

I don't think it was so much that fact that he didn't take any demons down in the final selection, because like you said, he more than proved himself later on to become a Hashira. I think it was more his survivors guilt. I'm anime only so could obviously be wrong but the demon that killed Shinobu's sister...I wonder, is Lady Tomayo the demon before she became self-aware? That would make for some interesting conflict.
