🛩️ Haohan Firefly - Unboxing And First Impressions

My unboxing of the new Haohan Firefly FPV rc plane. My version was the SEMI version, but also came with the C-20T 3 axis gimbal.

Hats off to the unique design, but pretty ugly and looks like a lot of drag that'll come from that lower front end. Can't wait to see how it performs in the air though...🤔

Great blind unboxing. Really like the attention to details the manufacture has integrated into the design. The light grey high density foam is great alternative to dark/white that thens to be only options for other models. The the main volume of the pod is directly under the C/G makes battery options, etc very easy to get a perfect balance.

Nice unboxing. Can you tell which FPV camera would be suitable to be carried by that Guimbal suspension?

I backed this and looking forward to it arriving in June, it looks to be a good rig for attempting long range flights.

Definitely unique, and maybe high quality, but it feels like someone said "I love FPV, but I hate pushers and twin motors so much that I'm going to make something truly despicable to look at...oh, and lets make sure those wings smack the ground at a weird angle if you don't get your landing perfect every single time. We don't believe in landing gear or stability once it touches the ground at all". I'm pretty sure this thing doesn't survive one somewhat minor crash, given all it's appendages and thin connections coming off the more-massive body.

That is an old design that didn't do well when it first came out years ago that is resurfacing in Kickstarter!!!!!!!!!

The gimbal footage with Walksnail should be epic....They tried to market this plane before...Its nicely engineered IMO....battery under the CG....great idea...😳😏😏🇬🇧

Awesome plane. It looks quite a lot like the Zeta Sky Observer. I bet the foam is indeed good and durable. Very nice.

So why are the wings that stiff and so many cf spars.... Is this trying to go 300mph or something?? 😅

Probably because there's a VTOL upgrade kit coming out for this aircraft soon, and the wings need to be stiff and strong to withstand the stresses of the VTOL motors lifting the aircraft vertically. Either that or Haohan just had lots of carbon going spare? lol

I'd be instantly down for a vtol version of this rig! When the FC was being shown I suddenly got very excited. Wouldn't mind an extended wing version too.

I saw somewhere a VTOL version of this plane where the propellers faced downward in pusher configuration, at least it looked like this plane

Since posting this video I've been shown a picture of the VTOL version of the Firefly, so it is confirmed to exist. It's as you describe, the motors tilt downwards 😊
