Just ordered the mate 10 , it's the best choice. Wider screen, head phone jack. I don't need waterproof. I don't swim with a phone. I'll just buy a waterproof case if I had too. I can live without amoled screens. My LG g6 proved that .it was Sharp. Can't wait for the Kirin 970 chip.

The Mate 10 is a fucking unbelievable great phone, but it's bullshit that I had to import an international version, cause Huawei didn't release it official in Germany and I don't know why, because in my opinion it is better than the Mate 10 Pro, and there is a version for Spain. why huawei???

Penny Wise You prefer the Mate 10 because the aspect ratio is 16:9, so the smartphone is wider than the 10 pro, which os 18:9. For me 18:9 is ugly, i want a big smartphone, and wide, so i choose Huawei Mate 10.

you can add a microsd 256gb card in mate 10 and utilize dual sim simultaneously(with minor modification) and battery lasts for 1.5day ... Mate 10 is a great phone indeed for the price. You could get a Mate 10 for the half the price of iPhone X in certain countries.

Because of the just 0.1inch difference in screen diagonals... The Huawei Mate 10 actually had a larger screen due to the diagonal in 16:9 while the diagonal on the taller 18:9 of the pro makes the screen smaller. Pythagorus basics. Mate 10 has a screen with more surface area than the Mate 10 pro. However in real word usage the taller display is probably more practical.

The Future vD we have the diagonals of both screens. Let's say that both screens are 6 inches as the Mate 10 is 5.9 inches and the Mate 10 Pro is 6 inches. Therefore with the 16:9 the display is wider and closer to a square. Therfore its diagonal is shorter relative to the area of the display. Hence the closer the display is to a square so in this case the wider the screen is the larger the screen is. Hence the Mate 10 pro with a 18:9 display has a significantly smaller display as regards to area.

16:9 is a lot more practical. Video's are shrunk to about 5.5 inch equivalent on a 6 inch 18:9 screen!

Neophyte I would have thought video in 16:9 only use the 5.7 inches of the screen when the mate 10 pro is 6 inches. Also some content actually looks great with it auto zoomed in on KZbin. You can see it in action in some reviews. Also some videos especially from films have videos in 2:1 ratios or even 2.35:1 so the mate 10 pro isn't even tall enough for the whole screen to be utilised. I agree that for the majority of videos the 16:9 is more useful. However for multiwindow and reading Web pages and messages, it is far more practical with a tall screen.

The mate 10 should be better than mate 10 pro as it has sd card slot and supports QHD resolution Mate 10 pro only has FHD+ Both phones have 4000mah battery which will last the average user a day's use Emui is very smooth too. The price is very affordable too. It is a very underrated phone

Good video, but the Mate 10's screen is larger than the Pro. The non-Pro has a screen area of 95.6 cm^2 compared to the 10 Pro's 92.9 cm^2, so even though it's a '6-inch' screen vs '5.9-inch', the difference in aspect ratio makes the diagonal measurement pretty meaningless.

Mate 10 is the last phone that has 16:9 ratio . Most of the phone has gone 18:9 and this ratio makes the phone look smaller as the width is narrower.

I will be upgrading to the pro in April. Both beautiful phones and i can’t be doing with Samsung anymore. I’ve had to many issues with Samsung devices one being a blurry camera problem.

It's weird how they do not offer Mate 10 with 6G RAM and 128G internal storage outside China. I just ordered one from their website. I guess the idea is if you want the full Huawei experience, get one from China. The slight catch is it doesn't come with Google services for obvious reasons.

According to our natural habits, more people prefer use one holding position of the phone. That is hold it vertically, even when watch videos on the phone. Hence, the mate 10 is a better choice because it has larger display area and wider display. But I just don't buy any of them because I am still very happy with mate8.

Its a great phone until you have a cracked back to replace. all attempts at communication have been ignored, sourced a new battery cover but has nothing on it and no adhesive template to replace. no back padding and no cable and sensor.!!! HELP
