its okay to get things wrong, getting introduced to bts/kpop all of us too got things wrong along the way but obviously we weren't documenting our journey in front of an audience who could scrutinise it. i just hope you have fun in finding and learning more things about bts (and other music/artists) on this channel !

Here's info that some still aren't aware of: ❤️JIMIN, at age 11-12 started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy. Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! JIMIN even had an offer to dance overseas, but declined because he also wanted to become a singer since the 2nd grade, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors who said "The world of dance was going to lose a great artist"!! So Jimin then went and auditioned for BigHit Entertainment, (company BTS is signed with), being the very last member to join, being a trainee for only a few months (which is unheard of for most Kpop idols), as opposed to the 2-3 yrs of being a trainee the other members had! But Jimin was so good that he was assigned the official title of one of the two Main Dancers, as well as Lead Vocalist. Jimin was even assigned most of the high notes since the very beginning, because even without all that training in the beginning, he was that good, a natural born singer who, just like his dancing makes you feel every emotion and feeling he's trying to convey! JIMIN, also, for 8 yrs, since a quite young boy, trained in various forms (4), of martial arts: Taekwondo (Blackbelt), Hapkido, Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo), & Chinese martial arts. He even won a scholarship, the only student to do so, to study more extensively in China for awhile! All the martial arts training has given JIMIN his phenomenal inner core strength, as well as his amazing flexibility, which has enabled Jimin to achieve all those breathtakingly spectacular gravity defying dance moves! JIMIN has found a way to incorporate all his various dance disciplines, as well as his extensive training in martial arts into his unique, ever so special, outstandingly amazing dancing abilities!! JIMIN, has been called 'Stage Commander', known for his amazing, so mesmerizing stage presence. Each dance move is executed flawlessly, his extensions all the way to the fingertips, his lines so clean, his fluidity, his poise & elegance, his ever so graceful moves, but yet, sharp, quick & deliberate when required! He focuses on every detail! Known for his work ethics and being a perfectionist to a fault, spending hours in the practice room, will study every move, even focusing on hands to fingertips. Even his facial expressions, or the look in his eyes! Every single detail he focuses on. Jimin tends to take in the music and interprets all the emotion & feelings, whatever it's trying to convey through his body movements as well as his vocals. JIMIN has now won the prestigious titles for 3 yrs in a row, for both KING OF KPOP, as well as also winning BEST TOP #1 DANCER IN KPOP, also 3 yrs in a row!! Jimin is also referred to as "Rookie's Bible" because all rookie idols, try to emulate & study every move he makes, trying to learn from him! Aside from all that Jimin has won other countless award, broken many records. His 5 solos have broken charting records worldwide, as well as being top seller, plus most listened to. Also breaking records for being #1 branding marketing idol, every single month for now, 3 yrs, a feat never achieved before, and still ongoing! You're right. BTS is their own genre now, they can do whatever they want really! The only subs that BTS have is Jhope as sub vocal and Jungkook as sub rapper. Main dancers are Jimin and Jhope (Jhope being dance leader as well), main rapper is RM and main vocal is Jungkook while lead vocalist is Jimin. Though honestly they do their 100% and I'd say line distribution is usually done well. There will be some songs where one or two members wont have as much lines but they have so many songs and it isn't always consistently one member, it switches around depending on the song.

This video is a bit old but it was and has been so intrinsic for so many army to get to know BTS individually which is why it was part of the "BTS Starter Pack" of videos (as I like to call them) until Ida S posted the 2021 updated version. I am very grateful to all the army content creators who make these introductory videos and happy to see that army overall have such reverence for them as well.

The rap line isn’t always given the attention that they deserve…RM has written the most songs, and produces a lot… Suga produce the most songs and write a lot of them….Jhope does both and is involved with all the dances. The Rap line deserves more attention.

I don’t agree that they don’t get the attention they deserve…. I agree that they definitely really didn’t for a long time… but in army in the last 3-4 years there’s been a huge spike in the rap line getting really seen and credited and showered with so much love. There can always be more love for all of them bc they deserve infinite love and support bc they really are all so important. The big difference in the last 3-4 years has been that since kpop has become such a big deal in social media and especially bts… there’s so many creators who never would have bothered with bts ESPECIALLY the ones who are more into rap and hip hop who army flood with suggestions especially with all their mixtape stuff bc it really shows more of them as artists and their music that’s all them… and once people get a taste of this rap line then they’re absolutely sold… which I fucking love!!! The rise in people who refer their style of music don’t typically pay attention to the vocalists as much. I think the rise in social media has really started to level out the playing field when it comes to support and attention… bc ppl react to what is asked for… it’s our jobs as army to make those suggestions for all our boys and seriously once people just get a glimpse of the rappers…. They’re hooked… how can you not be… they’re seriously such special artists in unique ways… but ultimately it’s up to us to make that known!!! I’m excited with the constant growing of their reach… bc there really no limits for them at all!!!! I’d say maybe add links to suggestions bc they tend to be chosen more 💜 outro tear is still my favorite bts song of all time!!!

I really love this intro video for baby Army since it shows the guys in diamond-in-rough way, how they were in the beginning, without bombarding newbies with lots of information. Their personalities really comes through and so endearing. Jin did lots of heart events for past concerts. You need to watch a compilation video for this, so cute some of the places he hid them and reveal later for Army. 💜

Since you haven't seen Jin and the 'heart thing' before ... (he only did it for 1year), you should check out the live performance of BTS Go Go Heart for ARMY. Also Jin's cow jokes: What is it when a cow sings? So-Song. He combines korean so (which means cow) and English song. And sosong is the korean word for lawsuit. Most of the puns I've heard him make combine English and Korean.

This is an older one with outdated information, but I think you got a lot of up to date information from the other things you've watched. This introduction doesn't show how much they've grown to now. Like the translating. The guys have gotten so much better, I think that all the guys are getting more fluent in English. And their habits have changed somewhat, and they have matured. Jimin for example has become more confident in himself and his skills have improved. Just like all the guys, they have grown up a bit and improved on many levels.

This version of introduction is the one that i watched when i want to know who's who and then i fell into the rabbit hole and no turning back since then.. in the journey i think i don't have a bias, i love all of them dearly..but then found my self fell in love with hobi, i feel happy everytime i see his smile and his laugh make my days a lot brighter.. i think what they say is true, that you'll find BTS when you need them the most and that your bias will choose you.. First of all, thank you. Thank you for making these videos and truly caring enough to learn more about BTS. I get so angry scrolling through KZbin and seeing more and more people doing BTS reactions...two minutes in and it's so obvious it's a money grab. They aren't really trying to appreciate the talent BTS brings to the table. And I agree every member brings something amazing to the group, but J-Hope...Hobi has my heart. I remember him being so sad and some Army being so unkind. It was heartbreaking. I adore him and his crackhead energy lol. I'm a writer and an extreme introvert. BTS really did save me from the anxiety and stress of my work. I love BTS and my fellow Army. They are amazing.

I think in the early days, the Main, Lead and Sub were pretty important. Now, I think Main is still important - like RM is Main Rapper (who also writes a lot of the lyrics for the group, or helps them), and Jungkook is the Main Vocalist (not only is his voice stable while dancing, but he also sings many of the Vocal Guides that the others learn their parts from, and does many of the ad libs and background vocals). There is a separate video on that. J-Hope and Jimin are the Main Dancers (J-Hope more in street dance style and Jimin in contemporary style). If the group were larger the lead and sub roles would probably be more important. Just my thoughts on it, but I don't advocate the group growing nor shrinking!!!

My daughter introduced me to BTS in 2015 and I got hooked, especially V's deep, velvety voice... she used it as the carrot to get me to watch a K-drama... HWARANG was my 1st and 2nd favorite (sorry, but Goblin aka Guardian: The Lonely and Great God won my are and 1st place) ..... Hwarang is the perfect combination of drama, comedy, romance, and big time Bromance set in Korea's historic Joseon era..... V is not only one of the stars but it was the start of the Wooga Squad, which includes Park Seo-joon & Park Hyung-sik. They both starred in Hwarang as the main characters. (Choi Min-ho from Shinee also stars in it.) The other 2 members of the Wooga Squad are actor Choi Woo Shik (from Parasite & Train to Busan, etc) and indie musician Peakboy (he did Snowflower with V). V once said "Wooga” is actually a shortened version of the phrase,”Woori-ga gajok-inga?” which is translates to “Are we family?” Some other trivia: BTS Jin &V recorded an OST for Hwarang titled "Even If I Die, Its Definitely You " Their live concert version is a gem, but if you want a preview of the series watch the "official" mv for the song. It'll give you just a few glimpses to the series; Kind of like V's "Sweet Night" does for Park Seo-joon's series Itaewon Class. Also, there are 2 other songs from Hwarang's OST you might like: Park SEO-joon's "Our Tears" & Park Hyung-sik's "I'll Be Here". Both have MV's of them recording the songs with clips of Hwarang sprinkled in....

It's funny, I got my kids into BTS and then other kpop. My husband showed me idol because it was trending at the time or something & we lived in Korea for a year so he thought I'd enjoy it. & Once I got done being overwhelmed at the mv, I did. I also fell in love with Tae, ,& his voice! He is my Ult . I had everyone watch Hwarang as well because it was him, and then learned Minho from SHINee was in it. Btw, do you know who played the really beautiful poet warrior ? The one who was supposed to be possibly bi? (I hope you know who I'm talking about) I wondered if he was an idol because he is seriously pretty Lol. I even love Tae's character in Hwarang . 💜

(his name is sometimes spelled with Jo instead of Cho, so not exactly sure which is accurate but on Hwarang it was Cho.) he was in a few other shows but none recently... he did his mandatory military service and was finished late 2020.. but nothing on him recently... so many go on to do theatrical plays and just life common life professions.. read somewhere a man with the same name passed the NY bar exam but I don't think that was him... I really loved his scenes too!

I even loved ban ryu even though I did not like him at 1st. (I may be off on exact names it's been awhile. I tried to rewatch recently but it was taken off free platforms and I could only find it on Hulu maybe? It was one I don't have. I've been trying to figure out a way to watch it free) it's a great show and I love how Tae is still friends with the cast. I joke that I came there for Tae but stayed because it was soooo good! 💜

9:50 the only "subs" in BTS are Jhope as a sub vocalist, because sometimes we can see him singing instead of rapping, and Jungkook as a sub rapper, because he used to rap in their beginings. But actually in BTS there is almost no difference between leads and mains.

there IS a difference between main and lead and the rest, but it just shows in the amount of lines, really. the main roles (jungkook main vocalist, joon main rapper, jimin and hobi main dancers) get more attention for those areas of expertise/more lines for the musical roles. we know they're all talented in their respective roles in the group but some positions do exist and bts have acknowledged them over the years so there's no need for us not to.

Just thinking of the overnights in the studio (jhope just posted today at 5am in the studio & somehow he’ll also know the choreo first and teaches it to the others. HOW? WHEN?? between photo shoots, filming for various things, studio recording, when do u have time to meet w the choreographer to learn the dances first!?!??) The rapline do SO MUCH behind the scenes so that everyone can look good front and center!

I’m very much OT7. There is so much info, and some sites are misleading at best on some info, so there will be errors, no matter how hard a person who hasn’t lived it, tries to be correct. There is a newer version of this video that is, frankly, more correct about some of the members today, especially Jimin, V, JHope, even Suga. But, we all do our best on pulling versions, lyrics, etc. I have dealt with anxiety and depression several times in my life. I really value what BTS has to say on this. I suspect each member has dealt with it individually as well.

I love your openess and sincerity. I'm a bit older then you guys, but I learn from and relate to a lot of things you say nevertheless. I got to know BTS through my daughter. And I have done the whole path of learning about them, and still do. They're all 7 in my heart. I think their personalities, the hard work, their talent and their down to earth mentality, humbleness and goofy acting, is what makes every Army soft for them. They all got their own fantastic qualities to bring to the group. I think they are the best idols or role models my daughter could pick. And eventhough its from afar, I truely have grown to love them so much, and wish only happiness for the boys. And I hope they will be with us as a band for many years to come. I think you are a wonderful person too, you're very honest about your past and struggles and together with Lucas you guys crack me up. It’s funny how jungkook is one of the most mature members now according to yoongi and he said he may have the biggest heart 😂 they all have huge hearts imo … I think it’s cute how jimin and taehyung have both said they feel like jk is the hyung to them lol but I think vmin just love to be given attention and feel taken care of… so cute how it flipped with them. Each and every member gives as much as they get from everyone else… it’s their synergy that’s really helped them all grow so much but stay so strong in their bond. Don't worry. Honestly, I thought it was cool you were showing your producer. Even if it wasn't perfect, you did a pretty good job imo. I think the main thing is not to get too bogged down by the roles, looking through the comment section I would say most are aware things like main/sub/etc. are not that important in terms of enjoying the music. I also really think you should watch the video BTS vs. KPOP, a video essay. It's kind of a long historical view of the industry and how BTS rose from that world. Definitely worth a watch though.

I strongly feel that as baby Army just have to watch all info vids out there. She has updates top this. FYI. For me I need the repetition. I learn new stuff and get a review to help me memorize. =0) Some of the info in this video is outdated. Like RM renamed his studio its called Rkive now I think. Have you checked out the BTS Crash Course 2020: History & Music of a World Sensation (by SUGA & spice) yet? There's some overlap with these "intro" FMVs but that one has some very interesting points about their music production and discography that I think you will appreciate.

They have to listen to Super Junior. It is an old school group, with 15 years of experience and more than 600 songs. Its members are between 30 and 40 years old. Apart from the group, all were trained in different job ranges such as acting, management, law, etc; One of its members has a royal lineage and at the same time is a representative of UNICEF. Its leader is respected by the entire music industry and by all fandoms.

I've said it before and you're probable aware of this by now but just in case, to be ARMY you HAVE to be OT7 so don't mistake having a bias as not loving all the members! If you ever have one of them become your bias, don't push it away we can have a bias while caring for them all ~ 💜 (Anyone who likes only one member out of the group and not caring for the rest aren't considered as just having a bias, they're not ARMY they're solos and we don't like solos.)

But in the case of J-Hope and Jungkook it just means substitute not sub par. It means they can fill in if needed as a vocalist (J-Hope) and rapper (Jungkook). Jungkook is the main vocalist because he can fill in for any member of BTS if needed and he does most of the ad-libs and backgrounds. Sub for these two is not a negative connotation.

The reactors that insert their own material and self-promote? Not for me. I am a mother & grandmother so I've been around the block. I want to know what you think about BTS. Everyone knows that if you react to BTS, you will get a ton of followers. That's a given. The challenge for me is how to separate the genuine from the meal tckets. I think you really like BTS. I could be wrong. Please be encouraged by my clumsy words. BTW, Lucas is great. I have gotten used to the singing intro, but could live without it ♡♡♡.

I personally disliked the way the creator described each of the members, especially for newer people who didn’t have an previous knowledge on them or their personalities. I wanted to say a few things (based off of my opinion) about the information shared for each of the members and give some additional information. RM- Before debut, RM was one of the highest ranking students in his class (and in South Korea) and originally intended on pursing a pathway in business (if I remember correctly) before ultimately choosing to stick with his passion for hip-hop/music in general. Hip-hop was big in South Korea in the 90’s and 2000’s, so it’s not a surprise that RM became a big fan of Hip-hop from a young age. Much like in the United States (or anywhere really), creative pathways and the arts are often seen as inferior careers and a “waste” of time & education. The music industry is also extremely hard to get into and even harder to succeed in (especially in an industry as big as K-pop), so it’s understandable how parents would often worry about the future of their children and discourage them from pursuing music (I personally disagree with this idea). RM, who was incredibly bright from a young age, could have succeed and possibly influenced the business industry if he continued taking that route. Knowing this, his parents (RM specifically mentioning an occasion where his mom threw away his microphone and/or his self composed lyrics I’m not sure) discouraged RM’s musical endeavors until they ultimately decided to support him. RM became a part of the South Korean underground hip hop scene as a teenager under multiple aliases (Runch Randa or simply, Randa) before he was invited to audition for a hip-hop agency, where he met Untouchable’s Sleepy, who was a judge at the audition. Impressed by RM’s rapping, Sleepy connected RM to producer Bang Shi Hyuk, who invited him to audition for Big Hit Entertainment. Then, in 2010, RM (previously Rap Monster) became the first member of BTS, the main rapper for the group, one of the main producers, and the eventual leader. Being the first member of the group who also had (somewhat) success as an underground rapper, RM was able to secure Jungkook’s addition to the group (who is now the main vocalist). Jungkook admired RM before the group’s formation and is still (along with the other members) appreciative for RM’s leadership skills, rapping abilities, and introspective thoughts and lyrics. RM is credited as a songwriter and composer for a large portion of BTS’ extensive discography and has produced 2 solo mixtapes of his own along with covers and interpolations of popular Western and South Korean songs. He is the only member who is completely fluent in English and has an innate talent in linguistics; teaching the remaining members words and phrases for foreign concerts, interviews, and talk show appearances. Despite his notoriously clumsy and destructive manner, RM is a genius both creatively and educationally. He is very well spoken in speeches and songs and can solve riddles and brain teasers in a ridiculously short period of time. Although he isn’t as outwardly emotional/sensitive as other members, RM can be seen handling conflicts between members in a calm manner and other members have told their own off camera experiences with RM in their time of need. RM is in the middle when it comes to age (4th oldest and 4th youngest), but is extremely receptive of the wellbeing’s for both his older members and younger members. He still criticizes his own dancing abilities, but has proven himself to be a good dancer despite being the tallest member and having no previous experience. Although his official position in the group is a rapper, RM has a raspy and dark singing voice. He doesn’t sing often, but clips of his vocals can be seen in their latest single, “Permission to Dance,” songs on his solo mixtapes, and guide tracks for songs he produced or co-produced such as BTS’ “Fake Love” and Jimin’s solo song, “Serendipity”. In terms of popularity and hate, RM is one of the least popular members and constantly receives hate for previous mistakes or superficial aspects such as his appearance and style. He has shown some of the most growth maturity wise and has given advice to people who deal with constant criticism as well. To sum it up, I believe RM has a valuable rule in BTS as both a leader and artist. I feel like he is a nice, neutral, and unbiased person when it comes to advice and usually says things the way he sees it and justifies his opinions and thoughts calmly. The members and fans always look up to him because he has grown so much as an artist and a person and is, in my opinion, one of the most humblest members. Despite not receiving anything in return, RM chose to be the leader for BTS and has been doing a great job. He continues to push his limits both mentally and physically to get where he is today and although he has said and done things I personally don’t agree with, I definitely think he deserves more respect and love from fans (especially maknae line fans). I can write more for him and the other members, but this comment is already too long and people are most likely not going to read it anyways lol. I can write more about the other members when I have time.

Also, as for those who said you "got it wrong" I am just going to leave this here (as she says it much better than I ever could): "TheRiseOfBangtanOfficial 2 months ago I just need to say something. I’m really grateful for everyone who believes in what I’m doing. But I am not the end-all, be-all. Like with any topic, there is no “one source” that will have all the information you need. My series is no exception. You must do your own research. You must go watch source material on your own. You must look at not just what satisfies your own biases, but also what goes against them and makes you uncomfortable. You must have your own opinions on matters and not just what everyone else tells you to feel. While I have done what I believe is right, every ARMYs experience is different. Every single one. And I am doing my best to give context to help explain mine.
