Who wants to summit a peak in Glacier National Park? How about THREE?
Making it to the top of a mountain in Glacier Park is a glorious feat in itself. Experienced hikers who are used to class 3 and 4 scree climbing take on the challenge of summiting Glacier's many rocky peaks. For those who are crazy and motivated enough (us) you can actually climb three of them in one day.
Sharing a Ridgeline along the Garden Wall, Piegan, Pollock, and Bishop's Cap can all be summited in one day. Many peak baggers will consider doing one paired with another, and sometimes all three as they line up on an easy-to-navigate route. Together they're known was the "Trifecta."
In today's adventure vlog we're going to hike these three peaks. I'm going to show you the route and how to safely find your way starting at Lunch Creek and ending at the Logan's Pass Visitor Center. Along the way we're going to encounter wildlife, flower meadows, stunning views, and 'lots of SCREE.
We're going to share a lot of laughs on this hike in this lighthearted vlog-style video.
DO NOT attempt the Trifecta unless you have experience in class 3 and 4 climbing. This is not for beginners and the route doesn't follow a specific trail. I do not recommend this trail if this is your first time in Glacier National Park and if you don't understand basic climber's safety protocol.

Thanks for memories!! I'm retired in Ecuador - exploring the Andes of Ecuador BUT.....i hiked and climbed Glacier for 35+ years put on over 5000 trail miles over 100 summits. climbed my last peak at age 61 a back condition stopped me from any further climbing (100% disability) summited Pollock about a dozen times, Piegan close to the same, and Bishop's Cap twice lost a ton of pics with a computer crash (2009) - including both Bishop's Cap summits Thanks again P.S. Ecuador is unreal

Wow! Thank you so much for your message, Jerry! I feel as though I'm in the presence of Glacier-climbing royalty. I aspire to climb as many peaks as you have in this beautiful park! I'm glad this video, and the other's I've shared from long days of scrambling in Glacier, have given you some nostalgia. I dream of visiting Ecuador one day, maybe I'll run into you at the summits of those peaks! All the best, Jeff H

@@Jeff_Hyer i'm 69 now. i still put in some miles, but climbing is in the rear view mirror, which brings me to my point. keep doing it while you can. just keep doing it. you never know when life's injuries or other factors take away the ability. i'm so glad i did what i did when i could. my climbing buddy swears that my insistence of getting him out was THE reason he survived a serious heart attack (triple bypass) at age 56. his doctor said his cardio strength was why he survived. there are those benefits. i started each year biking. in May hit Apgar and Scenic Point (two medicine) and Quartz far end bushwhack for fishing. i had my early season routine. gradually going higher and selectively finding south faced trails for fun. keep doing it. just keep doing it and yes, Ecuador is a perfect place to retire. the Andes are beautiful. the Amazon amazing, and the Incan ruins are spectacular. so much to see and do..... Galapagos soon.
