Since this is still one of the top recommended videos for GNP reservations, I should note that a few things have changed for 2024: 1. The St. Mary (east) entrance on Going to the Sun Road no longer requires a reservation. 2. The reservation for the west entrance on Going to the Sun Road is now only valid for 1 day.

We love your videos, and they have been very helpful as we plan our trip to Glacier, Yellowstone and Teton,,,,,,, but we are surprised and almost SHOCKED that "We're in the Rockies" doesn't have a video tell of all the wonderful things to see and do in the Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park . Are there any plans on such a video?

Sounds too confusing to go there. We are going back to Yellowstone end of May with a few days in Teton. Taking our 3 granddaughters ages 2,3,and 6. We might try Glacier next year. Reading up on all your videos!

Having to get reservations is a bit tricky and complicated the planning process. However, it is doable. That being said, you can never go wrong with Yellowstone!

You can come in like mid September and you don't have to worry about the reservation. Until they take that away.

@@WereintheRockies Absolutely absurd imho. How can they enforce this? Part of the reason people go to National Parks to to take family photos and videos? Are they only targetting people who moneitize vids? Or ]are they going to try to shame people from using camera.

@@michaeltuffin8147 Supposedly only targeting people who make vids. But interestingly, some parks are restricting me from shooting videos in popular places. Meanwhile, every other visitor will be shooting their person videos - with the same iPhone - in those places. I'm going to publish my experiences in video or blog form sometime soon.

You've actually had NPS personeel tell you not to record with an iPhone? That's insane! The NPS will have to hire 1000X employees to police people with iPhones. I'm usually lugging around DSLRs/Mirrorless bodies and a couple lenses. I've yet to be "questioned" or see anyone else getting stopped, and I went to 4 NPs in the last year. This will be very bad, I think, for the NPS. They have to realize that channels such as yours provide a valuable service for people looking to visit parks.

Hey guys.. I watched your Yellowstone video about 6 months ago or so. Really helped us. Recently I was watching channelmakers and Nate interviewed you guys about Project 24. I'm also an aspiring youtuber doing similar things as you guys. I'm wondering if you would still recommend the program. Me and my wife also do youtube stuff together.. but she's still working, but will retire at the end of August.. so hopefully when we're both youtubing I can start growing a little more.

Yes you can. 3:00 pm is when they stop requiring a reservation permit.

So if I'm understanding correctly with going to the sun road, if you stay in a campground that's past the entrance OR you enter into the park before the 6am (or after 3pm) window, then you don't need a pass right? Also I'm going in mid June (11th to 16th) - questionable that the entire GTTS road is open, but is it typically open up to logan pass from the west entrance? Thanks for the informational video, your content is helping me plan a huge trip! Helping me figure out the best campgrounds to stay at :)

If you have a reservation at Lake McDonald lodge is the GTSR reservation good for day of check-in, check-out, or both? I can’t tell from the NPS website.

Your lodging reservation will allow you to get to the lodge on the day of check in and leave the lodge the day of check out. It does not allow you to drive to multiple areas of the park. See timestamps 3:19 & 4:44 in the video.

It looks like you probably don't need them for that early in May. However, the Going to the Sun road might not be open at that early in the season. Check the official page for complete details (each road in the park has different details): www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/gtsrticketedentry.htm

Thanks for video. We are going there from seattle in memorial weekend. I have an america the beautiful pass but no reservation for vehicle as it is unavailable. Hope we can be there before 6am or after 3pm. Question is. Can we disperse camp in the park or will have to leave park

I believe the only way to disperse camp while inside the park is to get a permit for backcountry camping.

Hello, can you answer this question: Do I need a reservation to WALK into the park. For example, if I take the shuttle from Glacier Lodge to Two Medicine, and I just want to walk to the lake and hang there for a few hours, do I need reservation if I have no personal vehicle? Thank you.

Really good question. I'm not sure about that! I *think* these are vehicle reservations, so my guess is that you'd be ok. But don't take my word for it.

If the timed entry tickets are all gone, you can enter the park before 6 am and after 3 pm without a ticket.
