Most sequels don't "live up" to the originals... (And, unfortunately, denzel doesn't have lots of "range"...if one really wants to eff-up a flick, use sam l jackson.)

@@williamcowell1889 that might be the only thing that’s accurate. That being said, I’d rather have a good story over an accurate one. Given Napoleon was neither - I don’t have a lot of faith. I’d love to be surprised but this just looks like the first film recycled. Paul Mescal’s even doing a Russel Crowe accent.

@@williamcowell1889 you’re wasting your time. People would rather eat their own arm than praise a director who literally shaped cinema. And the trailer looks great, bad CGI monkeys aside. I guess they’re gonna polish that in post production. Hell, we just got the Director’s Cut of Napoleon which was AMAZING but since Ridley is the kind of man that trusts his audience’s intelligence and loves focusing on the human aspect rather than just action and gore, people were like “nah this is sh*t” then go praise stuff like Marvel.

Denzel plays a black African Roman emperor who only exists in Hollywood phantasy, not historical reality. With Ridley Scott as director that should not surprise. He showed the same disregard for historical reality in ' Napoleon'.
