the thing is, they did see "this". When a trailer is made, various versions are cut around town - all with different music, and there was 100% a version with Now We Are Free in it, as well as probably countless other HZ versions. Ultimately paramount is the one who decides which trailer they run with, and this comes from the top. The trailers are also tested in front of audiences, so they would have compared several versions. I get it, it feels great with the score music in it, but people acting like this is something Paramount somehow just didn't know is kinda hilarious. ;) They tried it. They tested it. Some execs at the top decided they dont want it, for whatever reason.

Most trailers have cuts by every other trailer house in town, this would have had like 10,20 cuts to choose from, all with different music. I have never been one to complain about "unnecessary sequels". Not usually bothered by it - if a movie is good it's good. But man. Gladiator is an all time great film and a personal favorite, and I really feel like it should remain untouched. This doesn't look bad, and I hope to be surprised pleasantly, but I think some stories end where they end and should stay as they are
